Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Get the f*** in4) Liverpool's 'internet terrorists' BBC News Channel presenter Ben Brown wins our inaugural Putting The W Into Anchor award for rubbish interview technique, after his outrageous and hilariously inept grilling of protestor Jody McIntyre. But Jim White over on Sky Sports News ran him pretty close. Interviewing James McKenna, a spokesperson for the Liverpool supporters union Spirit of Shankly, during the fag end of Tom Hicks and George Gillett's ownership of the club, White launched a red-faced attack on protesting fans. "Nothing you can do will speed up the sale," White ranted. "They won't be removed until the time is right. Nothing you can do will change that. Do you not concede that? … Why should they hurry up a sale because supporters are protesting that they should do so? It's not up to you to tell Hicks and Gillett when to sell!" McKenna stood firm and kept his cool. "I disagree," he replied. "Hicks, when he put the club up for sale – interviewed on this very channel – said the pressure fans have put on him has told." White was left seething, floundering, having revealed to viewers exactly how highly he thinks of the people who pay good money to go through the turnstiles each week. McKenna would later be fully vindicated when Hicks and Gillett were forced out of the club, the former whining like a stuck pig about online campaigns waged by "internet terrorists".
stressederic Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Jim White is the dazzling white plummage gracing the top of Sky Sports' collective helmet.
Billy Dane Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 or to put it more simply Jim White is a Hodgson.
johngibo YPC Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Good little write up for Jay thatHistory will judge him well
Rich Gobey Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 'Gym White' is the skin colour that someone developes when they linger in mens changing rooms long after they have finished showering, drying and dressing themselves.
Ripley Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Jim White is also a loyalist bigot who got away with a "Big Ron" off-mic moment with fellow bigot Charlie Nicholas. Turd

Sion Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 What was that? pray tell - thought i couldn't dislike this pair of idiots any further. They were at a Celtic game somewhat joking about the potato famine thinking they were off mic.

deacon Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 or to put it more simply Jim White is a Hodgson. Please give it a rest.
aka Dus Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Get the f*** in Some of our fans could read this too when the question of "but what did the protests really achieve" or "what effect did the fans really have except making themselves feel better/important" comes up as it does frequently enough.
Ripley Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Sky Sports anchor White appeared to think his microphone was off as he chatted with pundit Nicholas at halftime during Wednesday's Champions League clash. Hearing the crowd sing The Fields Of Athenry, White was heard to say: "Oh here we go again, the tottie famine." Nicholas replied: "Aye, and they're all eating chips singing this."

You're obsessed with Tottie these days Ripley, don't you think you should have a lie down? I love it when scudgers get shown up for what they are, an immediate sacking surely?

Saithip Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Jim White is also a loyalist bigot who got away with a "Big Ron" off-mic moment with fellow bigot Charlie Nicholas. Turd You reminded me of an observation made by a Rangers fan friend of mine a while back. I was talking to him about a shop I'd seen in Glasgow selling all kinds of Celtic memorabilia and with music of dubious merit - anti-loyalist, anti-British nonsense - blaring out into the street. I asked him if there was a Rangers equivalent outlet. He said there wasn't because there would be a huge outcry from Celtic fans and the word "bigots" would be bandied about in connection to it. It is apparently OK to label loyalists bigots but it is not OK to criticise Celtic fans of extreme persuasions (like those carrying out their recent disgraceful poppy-burning escapades). It does genuinely intrigue me and I write as someone of 100% Irish heritage and RC to boot, so have no axe to grind. I have no interest at all in Scottish fan rivalries and no interest in their football clubs but do notice how the term "bigot" is freely used to criticise loyalists but not others, which seems strange since extremists of any persuasion are surely as bad as each other?

Saithip Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 burning poppies? Plenty of sweaties & Irish fought & died in the wars Precisely - which makes their rantings and actions even more inexplicable. But then, many people these days are a bit thick, so that's the only excuse I can make for them
smithdown Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 They probably just thought that's how you make smack. Ha! Take that Glasgow!
