How long before the fans can be expected to act?

With a massive thread about waiting for nesv to act I blame our fans. How were we able to pull together to get out handg but can't muster a chant to getrid of Roy?

 

Votes on forums are all good but it seems to like the fans at the games support Roy.

 

Given we have athread where we identify nesv we should have the sme for the fans until those at the game do something.

This is something the board should deal with on their own IMO. But it is frightening that they hav to wait for an ephiphany to see its not working. Its just hard to be excited about the match when you cant stand the guy thats supposed to lead us.

I imagine every poor performance and defeat will be accompanied with Dalglish chants while nothing will be said with every victory. It can't be a game to game basis, If the majority of fan's think Woy isn't good enough then they have gotta use their voice regardless of wether we win or lose.

The fans will eventually vote with their feet. It happened at the end under Houllier when we were getting thousands under capacity for some mid week games and it will happen to Hodgson. Maybe not quickly enough for some but he won't be here next season, I'm certain.

The fans were brilliant Growler, really were fantastic.

 

However, I agree with JonShar.

 

The banks wanted their money back and a few factors made them decide that selling the club now was the best i.e.

 

- Man City had massive investment making them a serious contender for that lucrative 4th spot,

 

- Liverpool's investments in the team were showing a trend of net positive returns demonstrating that they were not keeping up with competition,

 

- Prospects for refinancing were not good,

 

With all them factors together, the banks needed a quick sale. If things went on further then the possibility of a new bidder making an offer to cover the debt was diminishing.

 

I think the fans were fantastic but I do think the figures are all that the banks looked at.

But it was the same effect as at 4:30pm one day me walking into a store that closes at 5pm and demanding that they close. When they close at 5pm, was it because of me or was it because that's what time they close?

With all respect, I genuinely don't think the fans had anything to do with the things you mentioned.

 

Hicks is a joke in the States financially after the Rangers collapsed, no-one wanted to touch him, and Gillett has been broke for ages.

 

As far as the right owner goes, there wasn't much choice. NESV were a no-brainer for the board with their track record running the Red Sox.

Although, Having said that, 'll say again what I said a few months back, there are recessionary aspects to this. In the run in to the close of last season I got offered plenty of season tickets, and although you'd get the odd 'I dont want to go any more and watch this sh*t' reason given, more often than not people were citing money. Still, it never helps if dross is being served up on the pitch. It goes to show that filling 70,000 super stadiums can not be taken for granted, and certainly not without a team that's competing for the big honours.

That's probably 95% true but if the efforts of the fans didn't make any difference I'm sure Hicks wouldn't have been complaining about 'internet terrorist' campaigns..... If it was only about the boardroom and the banks then we would have seen or heard nothing but the eventual announcement that ownership was changing hands, as and when it eventually happened. That there was a huge amount of publicity and media profile being generated was largely down to the fans. I have no doubt that the high profile had no effect at all on the negotiations but I am equally sure that it put added pressure on G&H. It clearly panicked them.

 

And that is what is making this current radio slience about RFH so frustrating.
