MFletcher Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Five points and five goals from eight away games in the league. Of those five, only three have been from open play. We've conceded 13. That's nearly half of our away games in the league this season. We've won one away game all season, drawn two and lost five. It's an appalling record for any club, never mind one of our stature. Absolutely appalling.
Hassony Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 yeah, but in fairness, mourinho did say that we'll struggle this season
Gerrardrules Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 And everyone Roy knows in football agrees Roy is doing a good job. He already has 1 away win under his belt. Another one and it's an improvement of 100%. That's a statistic NESV will love and cherish.
Stevie H Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 do a good job first half then set about taking it to pieces the second by stopping doing everything we were doing well. that's roy's MO. we're a small club and nobody really expects us to get away wins. that's his mentality.
Redray Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 His percentage rate of away wins in his remarkable thirty-five years of managing football clubs is thirteen percent. Yes, you heard me, thirteen percent. So, in accordance with his past career we should win two away games this season. How many away games did we win in the 2009 season? Fifteen, I believe.
Epic Swindle Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Can't argue with how bad his record is but I was impressed with our attitude today. Approach more away games like that and we'll win a lot more than we lose.
CarraLegend Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Can't argue with how bad his record is but I was impressed with our attitude today. Approach more away games like that and we'll win a lot more than we lose. Whoopee, 1 away game were we attack and still lose. How great!
Jim D Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Roy living up to his reputation, why is this clown still in charge of our club?
Murillo Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Can't argue with how bad his record is but I was impressed with our attitude today. Approach more away games like that and we'll win a lot more than we lose. First half, yes. Approach the second half when we're 1 up like we did today and we will throw away more leads than we keep.
Epic Swindle Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 First half, yes. Approach the second half when we're 1 up like we did today and we will throw away more leads than we keep. Only natural to be a little cautious with the lead. We let them have more of the ball but we still looked dangerous going forward and should have scored a couple more. Absolute sickener to lose given how we played.
Red Kent Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 We won one away game in the Prem from Jan-May under Rafa as well at Burnley.
Damian_de Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 To be fair about 95% of managers would be impressed with that record
Farmer's Tan Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Can't argue with how bad his record is but I was impressed with our attitude today. Approach more away games like that and we'll win a lot more than we lose. you're right we would but we won't so we won't..
Jay Blizzay Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Same number of points as Blackpool with a negative goal difference. There...I said it.
RafaShanks Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Hopefully our s**** away form will be the death of Woy.
Gunga Din Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 this away record thing isnt new. we've won twice on the road in 2010. today, i dint think we played that badly, we probably should have won or at the very least got a point from the game.
redjersey Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 We won one away game in the Prem from Jan-May under Rafa as well at Burnley. It wasn't acceptable then, it isn't now.
Red Kent Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 It wasn't acceptable then, it isn't now. totally agree.
smithdown Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Played too much football again, that's why we lost.
Hassony Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Can't argue with how bad his record is but I was impressed with our attitude today. Approach more away games like that and we'll win a lot more than we lose. no we won't we'll b lucky to win 2 more away games this season under this c***

And yet we didn't. Our away form wasn't good enough last year and it's not good enough now. He was hired to try and improve on last year's 'worst season in 50 years' remember.
Lee W Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 And yet we didn't. He was hired to try and improve on last year's 'worst season in 50 years' remember. I must have missed that. When did that become "fact" ?
Rimbeux Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 yeah, but in fairness, mourinho did say that we'll struggle this season

He was hired to try and improve on last year's 'worst season in 50 years' remember. i remember very well thanks, and you're 100% right. it wasnt good enough last year and it isnt good enough now. at least you're being consistent with that assessment. oh, wait, no, you're not
MFletcher Posted November 28, 2010 Author Posted November 28, 2010 I must have missed that. When did that become "fact" ? I was mocking Wayne's assessment of last season. This is clearly the worst season in 50 years since we're worse than last season which was apparently the worst season in 50 years. i remember very well thanks, and you're 100% right. it wasnt good enough last year and it isnt good enough now. at least you're being consistent with that assessment. oh, wait, no, you're not Rafa had slack. Hodgson doesn't. Mainly because he's out of his depth and knows it.
