Apparantly he's getting the boot at Inter in three games if he can't turn it around. Hodgson might last 2-3 games..

Rafa back in 3 games. Hodgson gone. Proper investment in the Summer. Fans all together again singing the great Mans Name Rafa Benitez!! Rafa Benitez!! Rafa Benitez!! Rafa Benitez!!

A Dream come true. :)

It's bordering on cultish all this. It's not going to happen, you never go back and the fanbase would be massively split.

Rafa is a great manager but if he fails at Inter with that foundation in place he shouldn't be considered anyway. He needs a good break.

Totally agree. More than anything, I want to see someone who everyone (or most people, you can't please everyone) welcomes. A positive atmosphere on the pitch, in the dressing room, and in the stands. Whole club getting a lift from a new manager and new signings. The kind of lift and goodwill we'd expected from new owners, that Roy's presence has managed to destroy.

Exactly. A strong new manager with his own vision will bring people together, not sentimentality. Jochim Loew is a name that keeps springing to mind for me.

they're 5th. one win in 5

and playing absolute s****

Really, have to admit not followed it that closely, that's not good even Hodgson has better record over the last five games.

I'd welcome Rafa back with open arms but it's probably not the best for him if he came here on the back of a dismissal from Inter, unless it is all part of a NESV masterplan !!!!

I don't want to be brought together with your lot. You're all bad bells.

You bring the best man in for the job, you don't care if it pleases you, me or the milkman. THE. BEST. MAN.

winning will please me. If Rafa is the best man, then get him, if there is someone better then get him.

To be fair, I don't think those advocating Benitez returning are doing so on the basis of sentiment.

But I tend to agree that it should definitely be not now when it comes to Rafa. But he's an option that should be conisdered on merits, relative to other candidates.

haven't they got a s*** load of injuries?

they have a few, but they cant get the ball in the net. they've only scored 13 all season in the league, and i think Eto'o has about 12 of those. for a team that walked the league the last few years under Mourinho and won the European Cup, its not looking too rosey for Rafa at the minute.

This. I love Rafa and think he's a great manager, but this just won't work out.

Give it some time.

I think this is massively overplayed, it was a minority who wanted him out and though there will always be some people who will never admit they were wrong, there would obviously be some erosion of anti-Rafa sentiment seeing what we are currently experiencing.

Regardless, we are LFC fans, we will always have divisions, even a manager coming in and winning the league would not completely unite the fan base so what does it matter? We should, as always get the best manager we possibly can, if that is Rafa, then it's Rafa, if it's someone else, it's someone else.

They only won it by 2 points last season to be fair, they were shocking for long spells, getting outclassed by the likes of Catania and struggling at home to Bari and Siena.

Roma were winning that league until John Arne Riise's shocking marking on Pazzini cost them the title with just a few games to go.

If he is sacked at Inter I don't think he'd be the best candidate anyway but for me there's too many complications with going back to a previous manager.
