pipnasty Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Anybody seen this recently? Jimmy McGovern: BBC worried about 'anti-Manchester United bias "They've asked questions, particularly about the anti-Manchester United bias in The Street. There was this big spiel about a character wanting to shoot Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand. I told them every chance I get I write with anti-Manchester United bias." http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2010/11/09/jimmy-mcgovern-tells-of-run-ins-with-bbc-chiefs-over-anti-manchester-united-bias-100252-27624231/
ManxRed Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Didn't think it was possible for him to go even further up in my estimation of him, but hats off, he's done it.
floyd Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Jimmy should of just said "Kelvin McKenzie, now f*** off"
Falconhoof Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 (edited) I've never really liked it, tries a bit hard, and the lads sitting round the table wouldn't just sit there looking shocked. Its got nothing to do with how ugly their players are that I hate them, nothing whatsoever. Edited November 20, 2010 by Tony Le Mesmer
Stanley Leisure Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I've never really liked it, tries a bit hard, and the lads sitting round the table wouldn't just sit there looking shocked. Falconhoof Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) The delivery of the last line is what makes it art. It makes it convincing acting by a very good actor, but the writing isn't quite on the mark. Maybe i'm too close to the subject, living in Manchester and having been in their pubs a lot, to have a feel for that scene. Edited November 21, 2010 by Tony Le Mesmer
