richwilks Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) Highly rated youngster Dani Pacheco is the latest player to become disgruntled with life at Liverpool under Roy Hodgson, and wants out of the club according to Spanish football correspondent Guillem Balague.Pacheco, 19, has been frozen out by Hodgson since the League Cup defeat to Northampton and has featured just once in the Premier League – as a sub in the defeat to Man City. Pacheco was one of the stars of last summer's European under-19 championship, finishing as the tournament's top scorer. He is shortlisted for the European 'Golden Boy' award organised by Italian newspaper Tuttosport. He was rewarded with a new contract and given squad number 12 ahead of the season, raising hopes of more involvement in the first team. He also qualifies as a homegrown player. However, those opportunities haven't been forthcoming and when he has featured it has been in the unfamiliar role on the right of midfield. Balague reports that Real Sociedad had wanted to take Pacheco on loan last summer and that he now wishes to leave the club. Pacheco, a graduate of Barcelona's academy, has been maligned under Hodgson's reign along with fellow players Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson. Reports suggest fellow Spaniards Pepe Reina and Fernando Torres are highly deluded by life under Hodgson. Owner John W. Henry recently backed Hodgson to remain as Liverpool manager, despite the large majority of supporters being highly against such a decision. Henry has signaled an intent to build with youth – losing one of Europe's top youngsters would be a bad start to such a strategy. http://www.thisisanf...eco-wants-out/? anfield11 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) http://www.thisisanf...eco-wants-out/? It gets more depressing with each passing day. Flies totally against the line that the Y....owners are giving us. Roy has probably decided because he's not over 6 foot he's no good.....we're the new Bolton, Sunderland, Stoke!!! richwilks Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 It gets more depressing with each passing day. Flies totally against the line that the Y....owners are giving us. Roy has probably decided because he's not over 6 foot he's no good.....we're the new Bolton, Sunderland, Stoke!!! He showed exactly the ability he had for the Spain U19's in the summer. He's the stand out player in the country's next generation of superstars. If we're not careful all the good work Rafa did with the youth setup is going to be destroyed and when we do eventually get a new manager we'll be rebuilding everything from scratch again.
dorgie Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 "Highly deluded"? The journalist certainly is if he can't get his vocabulary right.
Gerry Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 The journalist certainly is if he can't get his vocabulary right. I think he/she may have been aiming for disillusioned. Or perhaps disenchanted.

crisps Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 We're going to end up playing a mixture of the womens and under 16 team by time all the players have left who are sick of this dinosauric idiot.
Boca Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 We're going to end up playing a mixture of the womens and under 16 team by time all the players have left who are sick of this dinosauric idiot. Maybe that's why we're looking to bring Fanni in?
Mike Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 one presumes the money ball gurus of nesv are aware of this...
Chili Palmer Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Maybe that's why we're looking to bring Fanni in? I don't want him, too many Fannis in our team as it is.
Swipe Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Henry needs to wake up and do something about Hodgson. There is simply no logical reason why he's still here. Nobody can be impressed with him.

Swipe Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I just can't understand it. Someone on twitter said something the other night bout speaking to "someone in the know" who claimed the owners are fully aware of how disliked RH is by the fans. f***ing sack him then. There's no other side of this story. We hate him and he's utter garbage. Bin him, get your own man then put your money where your month is. The c*** damages the club every time he opens his mouth and every time he takes charge of a game.
Boca Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Various tweets saying Pacheco is being punished for turning up late to a reserve game.

sangria Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Didnt Kev suggest there was an issue before the Napoli away game? That's the story discussed in RAWK, but someone also pointed out he hasn't featured since before the Napoli game. Northampton was the last 1st team game he played, I think.

sangria Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 What was the alleged issue? Did they say what it was? Late for flight for Napoli game, fined, then late for reserve game, fined. Some tut-tutting and explaining that his freezing out was as a result of this, until someone pointed out he hadn't played since the Northampton game, which was before Napoli. I am very sceptical about stories about indiscipline, after the story about Lucas and Aquilani being lazy in training, preparing the fans for their departure. Like I said, I originally attributed this to Purslow, but I've come to think that smearing players is actually Hodgson's modus operandi.

growler Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 lets not forget his treatment of Insua and Aquilani and LDV too. This is a guy who will sell most of the youth or piss them off by the end of the season and then blame Rafa for leaving the club with no decent kids. 5 years later when we try and buy these players back for 20mil because they are considered homegrown for us, someone, hopefully will remember that it was Roy that caused him to leave.

A month or so ago, El Campeador compared Hodgson's reign with a man who's been bequeathed a cellar of fine wines, which should be kept until they've aged to a fine vintage. Instead, he opens them indiscriminately, and by the time he's been kicked out and someone else given the cellar, all the wines are gone.
