Sion Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 We play again on Wednesday! This is the best I have felt about the prospects of the club for a long time so I am naturally quite excited. Boycott ended, Torres scoring, Henry talking a good game, Roy up to a 1 out of 10 on the fan satisfaction scale. As far as the oblig formation goes I'd keep the exact same team assuming they're all fit.
smithdown Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Kick them off the park and boot it one into the net. Go ed der redmen
allawee Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I think with the weather and the number of games played in the past week, the players will be tired and CFP will be playing unfortunately as Roy may change few players, so a draw at best.
floyd Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) If Poulson starts, Hodgson needs to be sacked Edited November 8, 2010 by floyd
Benzo-13 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Tempo.Do an old Arsenal.Tear in for twenty minutes, score one then sit off and counter with pace on breakAs they'll press on.
smithdown Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Poulsen didn't even come on yesterday. He's not playing. It'd be madness.
Gunga Din Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 i think he will keep the same team, we'll beat them and beat them well
CarraLegend Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 These are absolute s****, Stoke I can understand people being wary of but theres no excuse for not beating this lot. Keep the same team and give them the leathering people from that incest ridden s***hole deserve.

CarraLegend Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 stoke are as bad. turn up at both these games with the same side and the same effort as we did yesterday, and we'll get 6 points I agree, just understand people thinking Stoke is harder because of the atmosphere and better league finishes than Wigan, they are still however absolute s***.
anfield11 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Last two years away to Wigan and Stoke....12 points up for grabs......3 obtained.
Red Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Nice to have a run of games when we're in form for a change. Usually we do well then have to wait two weeks for some damn international break. (This post may contain traces of Poulsen)
diaspora Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 They got to go for it. Wigan, then Stoke, then a rest till West Ham with another week till Spurs game. There is really no excuse for the likes of Poulsen to be any where near the team.
Red Kent Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 To early to get excited. But hope is slowly returning.
Flasher Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I'd go with same team to, though mostly because we don't have much choice. I worry that Roy will play the 11 too much to be honest and burn them out. We need a good January in the transfer market. Our bench yesterday was pretty shocking really.
Lee W Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Given the opponents there is no reason for change, assuming no injuries.
floyd the barber Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 hope he sticks with Kelly..put in a good performance against chelsea, far better than anything we`ve seen from johnson this season.
drdooom Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Poulsen didn't even come on yesterday. He's not playing. It'd be madness. He was being rested for this game, I fear.

John am Rhein Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 To early to get excited. But hope is slowly returning. you've heard in private that Hodgson has a terminal illness?
digs_nz Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Would love Kelly to play again, Aurelio??? Shelvey to get 30, coming on for Mereiles..? have feeling Lucas will get rested for Poulsen, but thats OK vs this lot. Expect to see Maxi and Jova on wings with Kuyt getting minutes, maybe Ecclestone or Babel? Don't know wat The Greek is up to, or our other CBs. Chance for Danny Wilson to get some time? Torres must start again, give him a run of games to score goals for confidence and we could have an incredible run while he is flying
Redray Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 If Poulson starts, Hodgson needs to be sacked If he starts Poulsen ahead of Lucas he needs to be permanently taken out.
Toni Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 (edited) I would start with the same first 11 vs chelsea, with kuyt behind Torres and Gerrard and Lucas as CM, obvuiously subject to the physical condition of all the players. If fit would have Johnson as a sub with the aim to play him on the wing. Kelly deserves another start, and I believe that the solidity of Kelly at the back, with Johnson s pace and penetration on the flank can give us a new dimesnion. Kelly can become our new Finnan, and is a better header of the ball. Edited November 9, 2010 by Toni

yellow jumper Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 wigan is a team we should be looking to beat. but i don't think they should be underestimated. they've beaten ourselves, arsenal and chelsea at their place in the last year. as well as spurs away this season. n'zogbia can cause us problems down both flanks, and has done previously. much of the rest of their front 6 are quick and physical and they'll look to break on us. different sort of test to chelsea.
