floyd the barber Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Hes been attacked from all corners, and yes hes probably deserved it with myself being one that..lets just say, have yet to warm to him....Now i still dont think i will ever warm to Hodgson nor think he is the right man, YET we have to give him some credit.....4 wins on the bounce, 2 goals conceded and 8 goals scored. Good job Roy....lets see if you can prove many of us wrong and maybe.....get a chant from the Kop

Good job Roy....lets see if you can prove many of us wrong and maybe.....get a chant from the Kop He's got stick when we lose so he should get praise when we win.He should shut f*** up about people looking at the result and forming an opinion around that, we started the season off dire.
épieur Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Don't like him, don't want him, but he's done very well on the pitch of late. He may even have.... 'turned the corner'.
Spike Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 He's not the man I wanted in the job but he's our gaffer and we've had results come our way so fair play. Count me in on the amnesty. I've never seen a Chelsea side so impotent as we made them look today. Incidentally, 442 all of the way. Whenever we play that we look and feel more of a unit
allawee Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 As long as our players are behind him (all of them and not just gerrard and carra), I will support him. I don't like his negative style of football, and his way of lowering expectations for the club. But I am willing to give him a chance if we keep winning.
madaboutlfc Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 what credit should he get.. Rafa players won the match.. Do you think Hodgson in a million years could attract a player like Torres to LFC? No.. He is not high profile enough and should only be a stop gap..

D.Boon Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) If its his fault when we are s*** then you have to give credit when we are not. Edited November 7, 2010 by D.Boon
madaboutlfc Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Give it a rest, he did good today.seriously.. could he ever attract a player like Torres.
RazorUK Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I don't like him, don't want him but how can he not get any credit for a 2-0 win against Chelsea? Fair play I didn't expect anything out of that game and we played fantastic in the first half, but dropped too deep in the second half. That being said you are never going to dominate a Chelsea side for 90 minutes regardless who is the manager. Good win for Liverpool and Roy today. Torres will grab the headlines, but Lucas was in all the right places at the right times today.
CarraLegend Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 seriously.. could he ever attract a player like Torres. Probably yes, sorry to disappoint you but whatever players spin in the press they're generally attracted by the name and a decent wage.
Rocheteau Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Lets be honest, he's been terrible this season, completely ineffectual, but our position in the bottom half of the table was always false. Today was a good day, and a changed mood. if he gets it in the ear when we lose or play poorly its only right to give him the credit for the good performances. This changes nothing overall, we need to climb the table and hold our position in the top four before his particular appointment can be judged. If we can keep our players fit, strengthen the squad in january with more striking options and maintain our form anything is possible
lfc003 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 The thing with Woy is he could go on a 10 match winning streak but the moment we lose or perform badly he'll get hammered again such is the hatred against him. I don't like him and don't thing he's good enough but that doesn't mean i'll be blind and not give credit when it's due, We got a great result today and thats as much down to him as the 14 players who played.
madaboutlfc Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Probably yes, sorry to disappoint you but whatever players spin in the press they're generally attracted by the name and a decent wage.you are living in cloud cuckoo land if you think a no mark like Hodgson could ever attract a big name.. Put it this way we are a three way race to sign a player with Ancelloti and Ferguson even with the funds Id be suspicious of he player choosing Roy Hodgson over those two. If Liverpool offer a player 100k a week, its highly likely he'll join us whether we have Mourinho or Roeder in charge, of course having a better manager helps but the majority of footballers are greedy c****.

Put it this way we are a three way race to sign a player with Ancelloti and Ferguson even with the funds Id be suspicious of he player choosing Roy Hodgson over those two. For a start it's more likely to be SAF, Arnesen and Comili, then you could get onto where the clubs now find themselves in terms of challenging and bring that into it and realise that as CL says they will look at the club and how much they get paid primarily.

Put it this way we are a three way race to sign a player with Ancelloti and Ferguson even with the funds Id be suspicious of he player choosing Roy Hodgson over those two. Woy is like Avram Grant except that Avram Grant was always short term.. Let me start by saying despite today I still hate Roy, But I disagree with you.....it depends on the position and the strength of the club regardless of the manager. In our current position, even with Rafa, we will struggle to attract top players, but swtich round, i.e. if we were leading the PL, going very strong in the CL, and have the finances behind us, Roy or Rafa, a top player will be hooked.

CarraLegend Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 that player would be no good.. case in point man city You're a naive little thing arent you? Do you think even Gerrard would be sticking around if he was on 50k a week?
Rimbeux Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 that player would be no good.. case in point man city As would one who only wanted to play for one man as you seem to be angling?

No.. He is not high profile enough and should only be a stop gap..High profile enough? Is Liverpool FC not high profile on it's own? Would Torres have joined Rafa if he was at Blackpool, the team that beat 'his players' a couple of weeks back, or were they Roys then?
madaboutlfc Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 As would one who only wanted to play for one man as you seem to be angling?one man.. no.. I am angling at a proven winner if he happens to be Ferguson High profile enough? Is Liverpool FC not high profile on it's own? Would Torres have joined Rafa if he was at Blackpool, the team that beat 'his players' a couple of weeks back, or were they Roys then? yes Torres would join Rafa at Blackpool if they happen to challenging for the title with a team which looks like it is on the way up and Rafa having the medals to prove his competence.. You're a naive little thing arent you? Do you think even Gerrard would be sticking around if he was on 50k a week? Gerrard did stick out with us when he could clearly get more at Chelsea so it seems you are the one who is trying to act thick

CarraLegend Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) Gerrard did stick out with us when he could clearly get more at Chelsea so it seems you are the one who is trying to act thick So why didnt he join Mourinho in the summer? Seeing as having a top manager is all that matters? Its money and name that matters first, the rest is just a bonus to most of em. Do you think Aguero would turn us down if we said to him in January, heres 120k a week come and play for us under Hodgson? Edited November 7, 2010 by CarraLegend

You're carping for no reason. Looking for something to rail against when we've produced our best result of the season. Are you that upset about the result and it being unlikely Hodgson will be sacked this week, or is it just that you've got to find some other reason to moan about Hodgson regardless?
