floyd the barber Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 dare i say it, his best performance in a red shirt.. Was tremenous today, all the way through to the final whistle.....hes been showing signs of the quality rafa must`ve seen in him this season ......surrounded by some average performances Lucas hss been quietly effective.. I gotta say i didnt really rate him and wanted rid like many liverpool fans, today i feel we have all been proved wrong.. Well done lucas levia...outstanding
Epic Swindle Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 He was great. I thought they all put a shift in. Gerrard was superb first half.
Gerrardrules Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Credit where credits due and he was magnificent today.
New York Red Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Fantastic display today. Good man Lucas.
floyd the barber Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 His energy levels are fantastic, while otheres were tiring...he was the one continuing to get stuck in, and at the times was carrying the ball into the chelsea half being the last man forward.....also, hes learned the "hamman slump"
alias75 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 thought he was consistently one of our better players last season, but first impressions are hard to shift, he has improved a lot, but he was never as bad as some claimed.
Elm0 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Have been saying for the past season that this mans problem were the restrictive tactics given to him by Rafa. He will flourish. Not that I advocate jumping to conclusions of course, lets see if he keeps up the form for a few more games before we pull the trumpets out.
CarraLegend Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 He was brilliant, he often is in big games though so no surprise.
Stevie H Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 dare i say it, his best performance in a red shirt.. agree with that and he needs to realise that he can do that in every match. bossed the game today against the champions, gets a regular game for brasil, there's a right player in there. outstanding today, delighted for him.
Rimbeux Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Top performance, not perfect, but the right stuff. He's a first team player in this squad no doubt and the others believe in him now also. I think it's in his head rather than tactics, he needed to convince himself and his team he was a player, he has.
Andy-oh-six Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 He was great today. This season he is constantly playing really well and today he contributed in all areas of the game. He tackled well and broke up attacks and he got things moving going forward too. Good to see him starting to stamp his authority on the game now.
Stevie H Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Top performance, not perfect, but the right stuff. He's a first team player in this squad no doubt and the others believe in him now also.there were times today where gerrard trusted lucas like he used to trust alonso. give it him in a tight spot and you know he'll be ok etc. really good to see.
Epic Swindle Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I think it's in his head rather than tactics, he needed to convince himself and his team he was a player, he has. Yep. Blossoming with the extra responsibility.
RazorUK Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Good to see him getting credit for an outstanding performance today. There were lots of them all over the park today, but Lucas stood out for me if I am being honest.
Bootle Buck Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Fantastic performance today. He was all over the place and frustrated the s*** out of Malouda. He has even developed a Didi-esque crumple.
Tones Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Fan-f***ing-tastic today. Probably MOM, but that will of course go to Nando for two stunning goals. He has even developed a Didi-esque crumple. Yes noticed that a few times today.
CaptainXabi Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 His crumple is indeed becoming quite good.
allawee Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) Good to see the media and Redknapp give him credit as well. Been a good player for 18 months now I would say, but he may have needed to move out of the shadow of Mascharano Edited November 7, 2010 by allawee
Redray Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Just not going to make it. Not good enough. Need to send him off to Rafa.
DonRafa Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Made up for Lucas. Takes a lot of character to come through all the criticism, and he never hides. Think he'll get even better yet, now he has more belief in his own ability, and, importantly, our players, esp.Gerrard, seem to have more confidence in him too. Good stuff!
anfield11 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Not always his biggest fan, but he was MOTM for me today. Superb all round display.
Spike Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Whilst we've never seem to have 'gotten' Lucas, he seems to have gotten us. Not a moaner, had s*** put his way unduly, fights hard and he's really showing himself as a player nowadays. Incidentally, it's odd how he's no longer one of Rafa's albatrosses
Logic Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 He's been good since he came here and is constantly getting better. The sh*t he has got from our fans has been disgraceful and I'm glad he's finally getting the mentions he should be getting. You don't become the youngest player ever to win the Bola de Ouro, captain of Brazil's U-20's and getting call-ups to Brazil at his age (and his position) being sh*t.

Very interesting people are more comfortable in applauding Roy than complimenting his performance. Just saying like.
