There's a bit of a gloss to that article to say the least, as a club they aren't that philanthropic, it's suspected that they were strategically in favour of Hanover's proposal to change the 50 + 1 rule a couple of years ago.

 

Bayern's AGM today reported a corporate turnover of €350.2m with €169m spent on players' wages and a small profit of €2.9m

 

You'd hope that the fair play rules would make it a little more theoretically possible for an English club (or indeed the league) to be constituted that way. Utopia, as someone might say.
