madaboutlfc Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 question for accountants regarding R&D.. how do you guys in the US treat R&D expenditure. Can it be capitalized/ written off immediately as an expense . If the research ends up getting a few patents how do you treat them? Finally, if the R&D did not result in granting of patents do you write of the entire expense. Cheers
