gulaman Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I'm interested in knowing people's thoughts on Liverpool and potential relegation. I don't believe I've ever seriously ever considered this topic until this season. Can it actually happen? Is this just an early season blip? Will we be relegated unless Roy is sacked? Could we be involved in a relegation dog fight that, the likes of which Everton are usually accustomed to? I know people have been claiming we are doomed while Roy remains in charge but I usually have dismissed this as stupid hysteria from the anti-Hodgson brigade. Is anyone seriously concerned about the club being relegated this season?
gulaman Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 youre a WUM so f*** off you c***I've heard this crap from a few people now and I find it hilarious that simply believing that sacking Benitez was the correct decision warrants being called a "WUM". Take your childish name-calling elsewhere, this thread is for a proper discussion.

HODGSON, there I can offer no greater insult, now f*** off and float you c***. and you starting a thread for discussion? f*** off! go float c*** Edited October 17, 2010 by DPD1973
Stanley Leisure Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 (edited) The anti hodgson feeling has progressed from a brigade to a fully fledged movement in recent weeks. I think it's safe to say that the percentage of fans who want him to stay is in the low .1's. To answer your pointless question; no, we'll get out of it and finish comfortably mid-table. Bootle Buck Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 With the lame tactics from our manager and the lack of effort, creativity and confidence from our players we have seen so far this season we won't have an easy game. Playing Torres when he is either injured or completely disinterested alone is unbelievable, having a defence that looks like conceding every time a cross is played in and a midfield so bereft of creativity or width is a fecking huge recipe for relegation disaster.

I don't think we will be relegated if the owners do the right thing and can Hodgcon. If he stays, I think we could be in trouble as he displays all the tactical nouse of a dead mouse. Torres looks pissed off as most of the time he needs binoculars to see a team mate, or he needs to be 7ft 6 to get to the crosses we send in when he is up against 4. After watching a ton of games so far, I have to say that I think we are the easiest team in the PL to defend against. We barely have a plan A, so plans B and C are non existent. John am Rhein Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 on the assumption that Hodgson WILL be sacked at some point - we'll stay up comfortably
Walrus Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 It clearly depends on what the owners do with the manager. If he's kept, then we are right in the dogfight.
drdooom Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 With Tom + George + Roy, going down would not have been impossible. With John + Someone Else, probably not.
Benzo-13 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I voted yes and not shifting it until that useless gimp is sacked.
CHRed Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 It's come to hoping Blackburn and Sunderland draw tonight in order to keep us close to a cluster How bad is that
smithdown Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 youre a..... HODGSON Will should give you a warning for that
Red Kent Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 The longer Hodgson stays in his job the more realistic relegation becomes. It's a vicious circle, the fans don't rate him, I'm guessing the players haven't a clue what he is trying to do, the players must pick up on the fans feelings and it affects them again. Our opponents must relish the chance to play us, we are nervous off and on the ball, some players just aren't upto the job. There is a total lack of confidence about everything surrounding Hodgson, he is a baffoon whose press conferences are becoming an embarrassment to him and to the club.
richwilks Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 As long as Hodgson goes we'll stay up. As long as Hodgson is here then relegation is a serious worry.

Feels like the other way round to me.
Cunny Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 As long as Hodgson is in charge then we will be stuck in a relegation fight.
muleskinner Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 We are the softest touch in the league at the moment, Allardyce will be licking his big flabby lips all week at the thought of getting 3 points at Anfield. I can't see anything but an away win, surely that will be enough to get him out, either resigning or sacked?
mercury Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Relegation is no longer a demise to be dismissed. The performance is so inept with no signs which show the manager may be able to turn it around and we are a quarter or so into the league matches. Sadly and reluctantly I am coming around to the idea of replacing the manager, even if it's not the Liverpool or normally sensible way.

Farmer's Tan Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) we are in a relegation battle the table doesn't lie.there is a lot of damage done to the club and players.even if we get someone in in the next few weeks it will take a few months to turn it all around if we wait till January to bring someone it it will be disastrous.Lets face it if we are still bottom come January we are in deep trouble because we are not set up for a relegation battle. Flasher Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Momentum is everything, in either direction and our senior players love the manager. Yes, i'm worried.
Red Kent Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 you've turned quick! even quicker, I turned after Blackpool.
Woodsyla Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 If Robbie Fowler says this Liverpool side is worse than the Leeds side that went down in 2004 then yes it must be a possibility. I can't see it because when we have 20pts on Dec 31st Roy will be given his cards and the new man will buy/loan some players who want to play for us, instill some tactical discipline into the side and do enough to comfortably stay up. Unless Roy is sacked before the end of November we wont be able to make a late bid for Europe. Of course the new man could always win us the FA Cup to get us into Europe.
D.Boon Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 One thing is for certain we will not be relegated with Hodgson as manager.
