I think he should stay. He's performed really well in the last few weeks. I believe he is a genuine supporter too.

He did some shady things early in his tenure, but his responsibility was to those who employed him. He's a talented and intelligent man. I think he'd work well with NESV.

I think he should go.

He done well at being a sneaky b*****d to help get rid of the Yanks but hasn't a clue about football and sees himself as too powerful imo.

Played his part no doubt but has got to go. He's a banker who replaced Rafa with Hodgson.

Totally unfair that. I doubt it's that black and white over Benitez, and choosing a manager in that situation was always going to be difficult.

And yet he still went ahead and did it.

Do you have confidence in him to pick a good manager to replace Hodgson?

As Rafa had gone, for whatever reasons, I can understand the logic behind bringing in Hodgson. While plenty of us had doubts about Hodgson I think it's been surprising at just how poorly things have truned out to date. I don't think they will make a change, if they do at all, until Christmas. Re Purslow I would keep him on the board but also look at bringing in someone with more experience of the football world - Barwick perhaps?

He played an integral role in removing the previous owners but he is a devisive influence at the club. He may justify what he did by the extraordinary circumstances that prevailed but he should now leave. I don't think there's room for his type, now is the time to pull together and I think that concept is alien to him

Agree with anny I don't trust him. I think we need a clean slate a fresh start and focus. Get David dein in I would apparently Edelman was at the meetings wasn't he?

If he is to stay I don't want him anywhere near the footballing decisions.

Actually I don't want him to stay at all. The leaks around the summer on Rafa were deplorable. The minutes of the SOS meeting issue was slippery as f***.

Fan or not, there's too much ego at work imo.

Has he been on the right side vs.G&H - yes

Has he picked the worst manager we jae had in my lifetime - yes

Has he lied to or mislead the fans repeatedly over the least few months - yes

Do I trust him to pick the next manager - no

Does he seem to enjoy publicity too much - yes

On balance, I want him gone. I want Hodgson gone first though. To be fair though, if the footballing decision were completely taken out of his hands I wouldn't mind having him on the board, but only if he kept well away from any media attention.

Under stable ownership with money to spend, yep. He wouldn't be the first MD/CEO in recent times to drop a clanger when picking a new manager. Scolari, Ramos? Doesn't seem to have stopped either club going onto bigger and better things. If it's going to happen in needs to be done quickly.

I'd be happy for Purlsow to remain at the club as long as he doesn't interfere again in things he know little about i.e. the footballing side of things. He did himself no favours whatsoever with the way he handled Rafa (and even less with the appointment of his successor), but then we don't know how much of that was down to our previous owners. I think his work in the sale process has redeemed him sufficiently to be given another chance. If he starts meddling again and involving himself in such things like transfers without speaking to the coach, then he should be shown the door as it's unsettling and does little for honesty and openness.

David Dein and Arsene Wenger. They were always successful together.

Sacking the best manager of the last 25 years and the manner of doing so, undermining via the press = BIG FAIL

Subsequent footballing decisions - RH, even Joe Cole... FAIL

Played a role over the last week, but really just a bit part player. Thanks for that.

Get rid, no doubt about it.

i dont like him and dont trust him

My sentiments exactly. IF John Henry is as smart as he's SUPPOSED to be he'll hire he best man in the business to lead the club. That man is David Dein. Purslow has served his purpose.

Despite his valiant efforts on ridding us of the filth that was H&G, you must remember that he was appointed by H&G. Not for his acumen in running Football Clubs but for his Financial connections. We need a proper football MD. Good ones are very hard to find. That's why Henry should offer Dein to name his price and get him in asap.

There should always be a place for Purslow in the Directors box. But that's as far as it goes

Yes mate I think we will be following a similar formula to arsenal in the modern era now we don't have a sugar daddy type owner.

Tell you what i would even have the bald ex manc and Chelsea c*** (can't remember his name) over purslow as at least he has presided over footballing success wherever he has been and notably got Jose over at chelsea

He rejected Kenny (who was free) for Hodgson (who cost £2.5M). I don't think he's evil, just not up to the job.

Evil's a crap word. He's manipulative and duplicitous. That'll do.
