psl Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) So who will be heading back to Anfield now Hicks and Gillett have gone? Well done to all those regular match-goers who stopped attending until they'd finally been vanquished. What about buying merchandise? Replica shirts all round? I want some happy 'we're free' stories! smithdown Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 We'll be coming, we'll be coming, we'll be coming down the road...

What about swamping the ground with new shirts with 'HOPE 15-10' on the back? Chewie
Crazy Horse Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I think I'll get on the website tonight and buy a couple of shirts for my son!
Cobs Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I better email Broughton and tell him i'm back buying British Airways tickets again - he's gonna be soooooo stoked!
Lee W Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'll be going again now, albeit not as regularly as I wish I could. Business as usual, now my money won't be going towards paying the banks on behalf of the EX-owners of our club.
smithdown Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Barnesey lad, you'll get it back somewhere somehow. Til then, you did what you had to do and that's the way it is.
muleskinner Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Can I get my jack wolfskin jacket out of the wardrobe again now?
Murphman Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 It's really weird, I've been thinking about this quite a lot in recent weeks. I never did go to that many games really, living 200 miles away doesn't help but I'd do a minimum 4 or 5 to Anfield and a few aways every year, have done so for decades. But I've boycotted Anfield for over a year now, went to Spurs and went Fuham but I vowed to never spend a bean whilst those two chumps were in charge. The strange thing is, I've got out of the habit, got out of the mindset, I don't look at ticket availability any more. Money's much tighter for everybody but that aside, I really can't whip up any enthusiasm for watching this side, making the effort, spending the cash, I've not felt like this for years. Hopefully the team will improve now, I think we have a long haul in front of us, the squad is in a sorry state and the gaffer inspires nothing but negative thoughts, it will take time. But I know it's a blip in my football life, I know I'll get back, I know I'll not stay away, all it takes is the feelgood factor to return. By feelgood I really mean the feeling that everybody is pulling in the same direction again, getting behind the team, getting people smiling again in the pubs and at the match, hearing songs and chants that have nothing to do with club politics, getting back to what we're all about. I think we were really close to the precipice these past few weeks, total and permanent oblivion as a club a real possibility, we could have got into a position from which we never ever recovered, God I hate that f*cking Tom Hicks, they almost finished us off. But I truly believe we're saved, that this is the first page of a new chapter, we have our work cut out defo, but something instinctively tells me these lads are exactly what we need. I'm trying not to get fooled again but I actually like what I see with these boys, very cautiously but with much joy in my heart I reckon the war is finally over, the new generals are on our side and we now get back to business! The boycott is over.
Leo No.8 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) Being honest I haven't been to a game all season. My cousin has been going on the season ticket so it hasn't been hurting G&H in the pocket, and I've still got it but it was more about principle really. I take my hat off to anyone who actually gave their ST up - I'm not sure whether I'd ever have gone that far; probably if Hicks had hung on this time though. Those people like Barnesy and Smithdown who have should be allowed to take it back up again. I have also gone out and bought my little girl her first Liverpool kit already (she is jut turned 2) - fantastic day! Edited October 15, 2010 by Leo No.8

Til then, you did what you had to do and that's the way it is.Aye, What a feeling though eh? Those pricks gone at last... Waking up tomorrow will be like a whole new start... Fair play to Nando and Pepe, both have played their part over the last year or so... Hope they are as happy as the rest of us
digs_nz Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Yusss I can finally buy a shirt. Would be a pretty good show of support to have an enormous increase in sales figures across the board starting today.
Ethan Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'm going to get the home top with Hodgson Out on the back
New York Red Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I tried to buy two shirts on the club website today. I couldn't get it to change the state on my order to New York from Alabama. But, the boycott is most certainly off.
Benzo-13 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Aye, What a feeling though eh? Those pricks gone at last... Waking up tomorrow will be like a whole new start... Fair play to Nando and Pepe, both have played their part over the last year or so... Hope they are as happy as the rest of us Well in lad. Love the sentiment.
stressederic Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I've not given up anywhere near as much as other people so I don't class myself anywhere nearly as highly as them, and a big part of my boycott was financially motivated anyway as I couldn't afford the tickets or the travel. However there have been times over the last few years when I could have got hold of tickets to anfield and wouldn't do it as I didn't want G&H to have my cash. I've never had chance to see Torres playing as he can at Anfield and that really bothers me. Not sure how long he'll still be with us or if I'll get the chance this season, but the knowledge that, if the opportunity arises, I can take it, does make me feel happy.
anny road Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I havn't given up going whatseoever I admit that I did give up buying my lad anything like
Benzo-13 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I havn't given up going whatseoever I admit that I did give up buying my lad anything likeI'm not half the supporter I used to be.Be trying to get what I lost back and there's still an obstacle or two, but I'll be at West Ham.
