New York Red Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Baggsy. I hope we don't just p*ss away a bunch of money on mediocre players (though TBF we've always done well in January). But we do need to strengthen the team dramatically not only to finish in the top six this season, but also to get a jump start on next year. We still need a left back.We need a real star in the middle of the back four.We need to get a legitimate strong player to sit in front of the back four.We need width. We need 2-3 players for up front. I also think from a psychological standpoint it would be great for us to buy one really good player in January. To really buck up the club (though I have to say that today was quite full of buck). That being the case, I'd like to propose a purchase. Huguain.
floyd Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 As long as Hodgson is not is given a fvckin penny, we should be ok
Billy Dane Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 As long as Hodgson is not is given a fvckin penny, we should be ok agree Isn't there a rumour that Kaka might be available?
robfar1 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Well we need a lot but we wont get much of it in Jan with a thin market and inflated prices...I do think they'll try and make a bit of a statement with one, maybe two high profile signings but then again that depends on who is available.
floyd Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 agree Isn't there a rumour that Kaka might be available?only plays for people with 36 years experience. So Roy's 35 just falls short
Cam Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'd be quite happy for a negative net spend. Sure, it would see us continue to struggle but if NESV take £30m out of the club in January it may just be enough to give Hick's heart it's final beat. laundering money from the club is the best way forward!
David Hodgson Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 As long as Hodgson is not is given a fvckin penny, we should be ok Whilst at the moment I don't disagree, if he's still here come Jan 1st it will be because he's turned things around. If that's the case then it's a different story.

If that's the case then it's a different story.Hard evidence is proving that he won't be here come the end of October. Even Grabiner couldn't defend that
Walrus Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Roy's wishlist (can't say where I got this from, but I'll let you know on Feb 2 when it will have played out): 1) John Jensen2) Martin Dahlin3) Jan Aage Fjortoft4) Jari Litmanen5) Thomas Brolin6) Aaron Hughes7) Jostein Flo8) Kevin Davies9) Danny Murphy10) Peter Smeichel
New York Red Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Oh transfer threads. How I've missed you... I can't think of who we should get. Other than Higuain, Diego and Garay of course...
Benzo-13 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 As long as Hodgson is not is given a fvckin penny, we should be okThis this this this this.. Etc! Oh transfer threads. How I've missed you... I can't think of who we should get. Other than Higuain, Diego and Garay of course...Under a PROPER manager Jansen, Dzeko and Michel Bastos.
Sion Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'll just be happy if the money we supposedly had at the end of the last window for a striker reappears to sign said striker. Don't trust Roy to make any important and long lasting players.
£440,000 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) Baggsy. I hope we don't just p*ss away a bunch of money on mediocre players (though TBF we've always done well in January). Kvarme Ate My Food Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Oh transfer threads. How I've missed you... is that coz football only exists in your head, and you have no interest whatsoever in actual matches?
New York Red Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 So 6 or 7 players and one really gone one? LB -- TaiwoCB -- Cahill (not a star I know, but there's not much out there) DM -- LassLM/RM -- YoungF -- Higuain, Bent is that coz football only exists in your head, and you have no interest whatsoever in actual matches? Correct. You got me John.
Sion Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 LB -- TaiwoCB -- Cahill (not a star I know, but there's not much out there) DM -- LassLM/RM -- YoungF -- Higuain, Bent Where we getting the £100m for them lot? There are plenty of decent CB's 'out there' BTW. Whatever that means
Frosty Jack Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 agree Isn't there a rumour that Kaka might be available? Going to Inter according to media here
Epic Swindle Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 My prioritys would be a big dominant CB, a LB, striker and a CM. Not sure about any names - I quite like Defour. Longer term we need to sort out the wide positions once and for all with some quality,
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Correct. You got me John. yeah, thought as much.
Billy Talbot Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) We still need the players we needed in the summer, the replacements for those that left in the summer and we need to get rid of the players we signed in the summer. For that - Hodgson needs sacking alone. Not to mention 6 points in 7 games and the bulls*** he's come out with about protests and understaffing. There's not one single positive about his tenure so far. Not a jot. Even the books he likes are f***ing s****. I agree we need a really dominant CB - I'm not that sure about Cahill. Cahill and a really dominant centre back I'd be really happy with - I see him as a really top class lieutenant for a big lad with a bit of pace and a brain. Lucio would have been perfect 3 years ago. Billy Dane Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Going to Inter according to media here Fckin Rafa, Hodgson would get far more out of Kaka
DonRafa Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Going to Inter according to media here Kaka happy to play for a manager sacked by us for The Hodge? who'da thunk it?!
FirstDescent Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 first off we need two proper wingers IMO, if you got wingers with pace, ball control and some intelligence it makes life so much easier for you. The opposing team will be worried about you on the counter attack, often they wont push up as high and when we attack we get to stretch the field, allowing more space for those in the middle. Id like us to sign Young and either Mata, Soldado, Hernandes.
digs_nz Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Wide player Turan, DM Lass, Benzema (?) might be on a cheap. Also saw something about Lopez, would love that. Aly Cissohko is class isn't he?
