Epic Swindle Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Worth a new tribute thread after today. Two absolutely world class saves and back to his dominant best. I love the fella.
Red Kent Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 The saves were nothing special and they were something I would expect a Premiership keeper to save. Infact Foster made the best save of the game from Gerrard at the start of the second half. Pepe's saves were bread and butter stuff at best.
5InIstanbul Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Show pony. Just catch the ball Reina, you're not Gordon Banks.

Hassony Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 (edited) if he keeps that maybe we can forget his mistakes against everton and arsenal and might become nearly half as good as Hart one of these days Edited September 12, 2010 by Hassony
madaboutlfc Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Reina helped us get a draw against mighty Birmingham.
Red Kent Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 1-0 Can you, can you post, can you post every week, can you pooosted every week.
JonShar Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Reina helped us get a draw against mighty Birmingham. Birmingham lost 2 games at home last season. Only Chelsea lost less home games. It's pretty ridiculous for anyone to be surprised that we drew against them. Granted we were shyte today, but let's show a bit of respect to the way Birmingham perform at home.

Im very surprised we drew with them. We should have lost that by a few.

stressederic Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 For all the kids watching in the audience; see how quickly Pepe gets back on his feet again to make himself big in the face of the striker after he's made the 2nd of those 2 saves. That's top quality goalkeeping right there.

Also, and this is not a defense of those comments. Sometimes in football there are weird results or a sequence of weird results that no-one cannot fathom out why. I remember Liverpool unable to beat Leicester City for years. Who would have thought Liverpool 4 Newcastle 3 two years on the bounce. Maybe a draw was written in the stars, maybe we'll draw at Anfield and get the Premiership record ?

fyds Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Amd although we were kak for large stretches of today, it's worth pointing out that Birmingham have not lost at home for over a year - including to anyone in the top 4. Nice to see Miereles come on today - high hopes for him - and Poulsen seems to be finding the pace a little more.
Flasher Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 (edited) Pepe is outstanding. Hope he stays long enough to become captain. Edited September 13, 2010 by Flasher
richwilks Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Pepe is outstanding. Hope he stays long enough to become captain. Me too, but if I was him I'd f*** off at the next available opportunity.
MarkD Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Do you think he has made the sky top 5 keepers yet? Usually consist of 'Flavour of the month ' Hart 'Previous holder of above title' Given 'Plays for Man U so must be listed' Van der Saar 'Wears a scrum cap, must be brave' Cech 'Is a nice bloke' Friedel. Pepe must dream about being as good as some of those. Rafa's best signing by a long way .
Hassony Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Pepe must dream about being as good as some of those. Rafa's best signing by a long way . I have heard a few pundits (andy gray is one) admitting that he has been the best in the premiership for the last 2-3 years now
Crazy Horse Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 If I were asset stripping the club, Pepe would be the very last one I'd let go of. I'd sell Nando and Stevie ahead of him.

Reina can be our keeper for the next 10-12 years Hopefully he won't have any ambitions of winning anything during that time
johngibo YPC Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I was third row of the away end right behind the goal. Those saves in the first half that close were absolutely incredible. His reactions are phenomenal, and to get a strong hard on both of them was fantastic
