Hotel with golf and spa

I'm looking for a hotel with golf and a spa onsite that is within a couple of hours drive of home so North Wales, Shropshire, Lake Distict, Peaks and Yorks Moors are probably about the limit.

 

I really, really don't want a coroprate chain kind of place, so the likes of Mottram Hall, Carden Park etc, are not on the list..... any recommendations (apart from widening the search to include coroprate chain hotels)?
