Just wondering how many of you out there play organised amateur or semi pro footy and if so in what leagues?

I played for South Liverpool as a kid (as they were before the ground was burned down, good club) then had years of open age footy from 16 in the Zingari League winning league titles including a couple of doubles with APH, County Combination (now the Liverpool County Premier League) and West Cheshire Premier Leagues (great league to play in at proper grounds against the likes of Vauxhall and Marine reserves with linesmen every week).

Now I'm 33 this year and living in Cronton, with not being able to commit to the travel taking up most of Saturday in the better leagues, I've taken a step back and am playing Sunday football for a local team in Widnes and really enjoying it. They are a fairly young team and its quite enjoyable being one of the older lads at the club and playing a more senior role in the playing and non playing sides.

Team plays in the Runcorn Sunday League, standard is better than I thought it'd be to be honest. A couple of lads who play for Runcorn Town play for us. I'll really miss playing footy when I have to pack in which isn't too far away now - want to try to keep playing till I'm 40 if I can though if I can keep myself fit and the knees hold out long enough.
