should be a thread dedicated to this.

Garth Crooks has just told us all that "Joey Barton was always going to be sent off or carried off in this game, but at the final whistle he walked off"

"Geoff" lost his mic during the closing stages of GilletteSoccerSaturday this afternoon, and the pundits were all clearly told to just keep going with their accounts of the action until they fixed the problem.

And not one of them managed to do it without addressing their remarks to the man who couldn't be heard (or seen, as they obviously took him off camera to fix the problem).

I'm just waiting for the internal conflict of a Sky pundit's hatred of Liverpool and love of Roy Hodgson causes their brain to explode while talking on live TV.

I think the way Gray and Keys went on about the wonders of us playing 442 last Monday and then pointedly refused to acknowledge that its limitations were one of the reasons we got dicked was pretty indicative of the mindset of British football punditry.

I remember someone tallying up all Nicholas' predictions for us one season a few years back and it had us ending the season with about 40 points

Although there was also one where Lawro had us winning 30 odd and not losing.

Jamie Redknapp has a PL preview show on SSN on friday nights. I fear for my health if i end up watching another 5 minutes of that.

Barry Coleman on Fighting Talk yesterday was singing the praises of Steve Claridge as a summariser.

I smashed the car in to a tree to try to escape; I'm typing this from a secure hospital ward.

So what reason did they give for us getting t******?

In the end I just started screaming incoherently and bashing my head against the remote control until the picture changed, so I couldn't tell you. They liked Gerrard playing in the middle though. He hit the post and everything.

No one at Sky is ever going to admit his natural position is behind the striker. To do that would be to admit Rafa was right, and we know that could cause volcanoes to melt

I wasn't watching Sky during the World Cup, but I bet they were banging the 'Gerrard behind Rooney' drum just as loudly as the rest of the sporting press.

It's almost like there's an institutional amnesia that grips the sporting press in this country and allows them to demand things with one hand and then deny them with the other.

And Phil Phil Brown Brown is now on MOTD2.

I suspect this thread has found it's winner already. It can be closed and it's not even Spetember yet. Feck, he's not even said a word and we all know he's won.

However, before it is I want to mention that I had to endure some of ESPN's coverage in the US over the summer. McManaman, Gullit and Lalas plumbed depths so low even Redknapp would be embarassed.

Actually, they weren't. Mainly because they had no access to footage of matches. They used experts to blame Capello instead :D

Oh he was good. And slightly less orange (unless my TV is on the fritz)

I asked Phil Thompson at a charity dinner recently if he ever wanted to tw at Merson bearing in mind all the shyte he comes out with. Thommo just laughed and said Merson was all right. Very disappointing, gone right down in my estimation.

Thommo doesn't like to speak ill of anyone - right up to the moment he tw4ts them round the head with one of his left over wood store shovels.

What was the course he said he went on to learn how to think like execs? Higher mobility or something, gold!

I heard one pundit (fecking annoying that I can't think who it was now but it may have been Alvin Martin) on the radio yesterday talking about players having to think about moving down south and all the concerns that come with it... like the cost of living in London.

These are players on £100,000 a week!
