madaboutlfc Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 However, if we are to stay in the current limbo regarding ownership and Roy continues to show himself up to be nothing more than a nice englishman where do we go from here. What will be the breaking point for most fans in Dec in terms of league position at Christmas
Bailo Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 There is no breaking point with regards to Roy's position (unless he goes mental or something and starts putting Reina up front), I would hope most people's "owners" breaking point would come before.
Tones Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I would hope most people's "owners" breaking point would come before. Shouldnt we all be at that point already?
Conrad Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 A thread about when the manager will be sacked, 2 games into the season. Nice.
Davvo Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 However, if we are to stay in the current limbo regarding ownership and Roy continues to show himself up to be nothing more than a nice englishman where do we go from here. What will be the breaking point for most fans in Dec in terms of league position at Christmas Silly perceptions like this are getting dull. I think it's wiser to judge him on what he does with whatever funds he gets this next week, and after he's had time to do something with those players. There are too many variables at play, especially for a manager in his first season, to lay down targets or expectations such as you're suggesting. I'd hope we are in and around the top 4 at Christmas, but I have no real expectation of anything to be honest.
Jarg Armani Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Shouldnt we all be at that point already? But we aren't. Nobody really cares. It's a modern world thing.
Bailo Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 But we aren't. Nobody really cares. It's a modern world thing. The thing is Jarg, I'm really really angry, but I really really don't know what I can do. I don't buy kits, I don't go to games anymore. Short of the blockade idea, what can I/we do? It all comes back to "wait and see if we get sold".
madaboutlfc Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 Roy with money spent 20m in 90s when it was huge took a Blackburn team which finished 6th to bottom of the table at Christmas. His past record doesnt inspire confidence

Get the black boot polish on your mush, don a headband and go on a spree. You'll be a hero and history will look on you like a modern day robin hood figure. Rather than a lab technician with a series of s***names on an internet forum.

Kahnee Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Roy with money spent 20m in 90s when it was huge took a Blackburn team which finished 6th to bottom of the table at Christmas. His past record doesnt inspire confidence Depends which past record you want to look at. He's won stuff at pretty much every other club he's been at. I'm no fan of what happened on Monday, but starting this thread when he's barely got himself settled is f***ing shocking. He's won his first three games in Europe - a first for a Liverpool manager apparently (could be wrong, was only half listening at the final whistle on Thursday). We were s*** on Monday, and yet were only denied three points on the opening day by a rare Reina error. Should we sack him too? Life is going to be tough for the foreseeable future, get f***in' used to it or shut up. There's a love.

Cobs Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 apparently we're signing Tendulkar to play left back
drdooom Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Having a breaking point for Roy is a bit silly. It's not like we're going to end up with anyone better as long as the yanks are here. When they're gone and someone hopefully decent has taken over, then it's time to start to think about Roy out or in.

Gomez Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Shouldnt we all be at that point already? Nah, I'm going to give them 'til September 1st. Who knows what they might do by, the might by us Messi and Aguero, and we'd all look pretty silly then wouldn't we. Watching and waiting is what I'm doing. Having a breaking point for Roy is a bit silly. It's not like we're going to end up with anyone better as long as the yanks are here. When they're gone and someone hopefully decent has taken over, then it's time to start to think about Roy out or in. In all serious, while that was a valid argument for not sacking Rafa, it is clearly not the case with Roy is it. Dalglish wanted the job. Still don't want him sacked, owners must go first before there is any more disruption.
