We all knew we were f***ed when we saw the text yesterday afternoon.

I'm not in the Roy out camp but I'm very f***ing worried. Benitez may have been many t hings but only once have I seen his side get horribly raped like that and quite memorably he changed things round at half time.

30 mins gone - change it

45 mins gone - change it

60 mins gone - too late

Gerrard and Lucas v Barry and De Jong and Yaya Toure

Kuyt and Jova tuck in leaving Agger one one one with Johnson. That's really not clever in anyones book, put a centre back in a one on one v one of the most talented wingers in the country.

Terrible terrible formation and terrible terrible tactics.

After 30 mins Poulsen for N'gog or even Torres (who is two games away at least)

At least we would have had a chance then.

6/10

we're all just happy we lost so we could come on here and complain because we love Benitez more than LFC or something.

That's the worrying thing. Aside from 5 minutes after they went 2-0 up we were completely battered.

Still a left back short, still a striker short and probably 2 decent wingers short. If Masch goes we definitely need a replacement brought in as well.

Squad has gone massively backwards this summer.

Notable as well that the crowd were singing Rafa Benitez during the second half.

Squad is too thin and does not contain enough quality - both a hangover from last season and the baffling ins and out of this transfer window.

The manager has a track record of s**** away from home in the premier league and a track record of not winning things, so why be surprised?

The owners have and will continue to take any financial crumb and the emotional heart from the club and this is the issue that is bigger than the above two points - until they have been replaced. We then should focus on the above more.

Maybe they want him to replace Mancini?

They could replace Mancini with me and they'd still win the league in the next three years. Money talks.

This is absolutely b******s, never have I wanted a Liverpool team to lose and never will I. That yesterday however was abysmal and watching the manager sitting down with his chin resting on his hand looking like he had no idea how to change things was not inspiring any confidence.

The owners ARE being removed, I've no idea what the emotional heart of the club is, but Liverpool played football last night, were f***ing gash and I hold the manager responsible for that because his line-up was dreadful and he didn't change it when Manchester City showed how dreadful it was for 30 mins. I believe that a Liverpool FC forum is probably the right place to air those views.

I'm fairly sure there isn't a Roy out camp. Is there?

they wouldn't have won if they had kept hughes, or gone for Hodgson

After 70 minutes I was praying for the game to end to save embarrassment. That's the first time ever and that worries me.

Won't be long.

i bet there is somewhere.

though like camp david it should be called 'camp roy out' based on those early training quentin crisp photos of him.

Fairly common ground that he is a mediocre coach at best.

Real question is why/how is he here?

If the suggestion in Fanning's last piece is anyway close to fact then there is a real cause for concern.

It's time Camp Roy was outed.

The emotional point I was making is that our previous manager and the fans - for the most part - had a bond that was similar too that of the club with earlier managers - they have broken this with the pragmatic appointment of a mediocre mid-table replacement that it is hard to get 'emotionally' up for. A leaving gift?

The appoint of Hodgson is a reflection of the disdain the owners have for us and the club's future. As I have said elsewhere, I do not understand how on earth the guy has the job. Not on track record. I can't think of another club of our standing - and yeas we had slipped last season -that would have headhunted this guy. None whatsoever.

As for last night, he lived up to his away from home reputation - expect more.

Go on, I must have missed that one?

Yeah its not like Rafa ever got his tactics wrong or failed to change things when it was not working.

He did. He's not here - start that threa dif you wish.

I watched a performance last night - continuing from last week's first half against Arsenal and also the game against Trabz - where we give away possession, fail to get it back, lack creativity and tactically naive. Tell me again, why's he here?

he is "a safe pair of hands", "exactly what the club needed", "will improve on last season"...etc

There's getting your tactics wrong and then there is leaving a gaping chasm in the centre of midfield and playing Torres and N'gog up front together. There was nothing in that side that suggested to me that we had a prayer of getting anything out of the game. It's a long time since I felt that way at kick off.
