Going AWOL the day of a big game like today's was a c*** thing to do. I understand that he wants to leave but jeopardising a teams chances of getting a result, and forcing a manager to start with B tactics is uncalled for. Absolutely despise the t** now, and cant believe he played like he cared for LFC, badge kissing and everything.

Lets hope we sell him for a massive sum asap and he then goes on to break his leg, the first training session of wherever the whore goes to. He might owe us nothing, but we deserve his respect as we definitely have played a massive part in him captaining Argentina at the world cup. He could have played today and stopped coming to training from tomorrow. Really disappointed.

lets wait until we know all the facts before we jump to conclusions

he was happy enough to play last weekend and give a good performance, a bit strange that he decided to go on a striker a week later

Aye fair enough. I'm just looking for someone to vent my anger at. Nothing better than football forums and social networking for people without a real life.

I preferred the 1.25AM thread.

Haha, sorry. :D

Massive sh*thouse who should never where the shirt again the cheeky c*nt. Who does he think he is refusing to play for Liverpool who pay him millions under contract.

We should sue him for breach of contract.

It depends whats actually happened and whats been said. Has he actually refused to play or withdrawn his enthusiasm thereby forcing Hodgson's hand ?

I'm sure we can fine him his wages but there's no case for suing. How do you assess the damages incurred by him not playing ? Its a flimsy case against him, better to just get the best price we can and move on.

Clubs don't match players ambition, they move on to pastures new. No new owners means we may need to get used to that fact.

yep. self-interested footballer in behaving like mercenary shocker. why should our club be immune to it when it happens to others all the time?

imagine if gerrard and torres had done the same this summer. . .

In general you are right. We've been fortunate to hold onto Torres and Gerrard, but in Mascherano's case I really think he wants to leave the country. I haven't spoken to him or know much about him but I just don't think him and his family can settle here. If that happens and clubs like Inter and Barcelona come calling then its reasonable that they want to move.

Don't buy the settling in country excuse, if we were competitive in league and champions league, there is no way he'd be leaving.

Wanted to leave last year, when we were competitive.

Yes and he stayed, probably convinced by Rafa he'd win something that year, which is his and all world class player's primary motivation.

Anyone justifying his behaviour yesterday are talking sh*t. Wanting a move is one thing but dropping us in the sh*t on the day of a massive game is another. T*sser.

who's justifying it?

There has been a suggestion Masch was different to the rest of the badge kissers though, that he'd give 100% for the club whilst he was here. I guess it appears that's not the case.

He wanted to go to barcelona when we had just finished 2nd and were still quite strong in the Champions League.

He's said his primary motivation right now is to live in another country, despite loving the club he's at. He couldn't have been much clearer about that really.

He's not in a position to be defended for his 'love of the club', a mere few hours after refusing to play for them. What kind of person decides they don't want to play for Liverpool?

Maybe he pulled a strop and didn't want to play, maybe the club see's a potential big sale and don't want to risk it and maybe that suits both parties... Maybe, maybe.. Who the f*ck knows. What i do know is I don't trust anything coming from the club at the moment.

I agree, I was pointing out that his priorities are nothing to do with football. He wants out, and yet Gally suggested he's leaving because we aren't competitive or ambitious enough, which isn't true according to the weasel himself.
