Red Kent Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Arsenal at home and City away, two teams who finished above us last season. We've had no pre-season thanks to the Europa League and World Cup, and we've had no decent investment in the squad thanks to the two uckin owners. Two leagues games against two hard opposition, put the f***in knives away will youse.

madaboutlfc Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Roy Hodgson is a symbol of Gillett and Hicks time at the club.. I resent where my club is heading towards and resent anything to do with the two yanks
carrafan Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) What knives? Do you disagree with those who say Hodgson was tactically inept tonight? Neither Jovanovic nor Kuyt are wide midfielders in a midfield four. We were outrun in midfield and even though Milan and Kuyt work hard, Jovanovic doesnt really have the defensive nous to support the full back. Now even when they got the ball, they were usually deep in their own half and its obvious that things were going to be poor from there on. Jovanovic is a fantastic player on his day and a pretty decent one even when things arent going well for him. Tonight though, a major reason for his poor show was due to the positions he was forced to take. Why not give Aurelio 30-45 minutes in a 442 if that was the formation Hodgson wanted to go with? Why not give Poulsen 20 minutes and get rid of Lucas who was absolutely s**** today. He was massacred physically, by more and stronger bodies around him. Same for Gerrard who only looked good the couple of times he decided to go forward. Yaya Toure is a monster of a player, we needed the numbers in centre midfield tonight. It was bleedingly obvious. It was always going to be tough to beat this lot today and a lot of Roy's tactical decisions only made it tougher. Didnt want to bring Rafa into the post but atleast most of the 'digs' at Roy seem to be because of his line up and seemingly lackadaisical subs and not because of a psychological 'He's lost the dressing room, i could see it in XYZ's eyes'. Lark Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 it was two tough games. dont think we played horrendously bad in either game to be honest but offered very little offensively as is the norm these day. I'm looking forward to september the 1st when the transfer window closes and the squad of players we have will know they aint going anywhere...til january at least.
oakie bob Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Roy was an easy appointment by the yanks, he is there yes man
Red Kent Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 Roy was an easy appointment by the yanks, he is there yes man And would you expect them to appoint anyone else ?
MFletcher Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 And would you expect them to appoint anyone else ? Is that a tacit agreement with the sentiment that Hodgson is a yes man?

Always going to be a tough start. Lets hope it settles down after the window closes and he finally knows who his squad is.
Red Kent Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 Is that a tacit agreement with the sentiment that Hodgson is a yes man? No, but there was no way they would appoint someone who would rock the boat. If Rafa had not decided to play the politic games in the boardroom using the fans, then maybe he might of still been here.
Epic Swindle Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Roy was an easy appointment by the yanks, he is there yes man All managers are yes men. Unless you think Rafa was forced to sign that new 5 deal.
oakie bob Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 And would you expect them to appoint anyone else ? No, thats why they did appoint him, they could have gone for Hughes, O'Neill (shudder at both) but they would want money to spend, Roy was an easy choice
Red Kent Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 No, thats why they did appoint him, they could have gone for Hughes, O'Neill (shudder at both) but they would want money to spend, Roy was an easy choice So he's a Knight in shining armour against the Americans dragons, should he not get our undying support ?
oakie bob Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 So he's a Knight in shining armour against the Americans dragons, should he not get our undying support ? Fraid he doesn't get mine, he was an easy choice by the idiots in charge as he wont rock the boat as he probably cant belive he is in charge of Liverpool

Rocheteau Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Roy was an easy appointment by the yanks, he is there yes man Thats a s*** of a comment based on what exactly?, presumably the fact that he's dodged getting involved in boardroom politics ergo he's a yes man Of course spending half your time creating ructions with those above you is in every managers terms and conditions I really really despair of the utterly destructive, childish and frankly pig ignorant views expressed tonight This is not about Hodgson, this is all about St Benitez, lock stock and f***ing barrel and its going to continue until the t*** brigade finish their petty agenda's and can officially print their "i told you so" T shirts meanwhile, elsewhere rome burns That said I agree with the first post
