Epic Swindle Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Post your thoughts. A sneaky win here could set us up nicely going into a decent run of games, and put Mancini under even more pressure.
sean Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) European style 1 nil away from home a la Villa away last year. Roy will have to be tactically astute here as if he allows City's 'stars' to get some football in their boots this could be their 'clicking game'. they have a fair amount of quality but are bedraggled. Oh wouldn't a win just set us up beautifully here????? Edited August 20, 2010 by sean

Stevie H Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Milner is ineligible for this one isn't he?oh is he? hadn't read that.
Mike Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 i say go for them. i don't think they're that good at all.
CarraLegend Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Being negative plays into their hands, they're shakey as f*** defensively. Still, 1-0 Dowd 93. We'll probably have a player sent off in the first half for a soft tackle to "even up" the one the other day.
johngibo YPC Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 We need to match them in midfield, which i think means playing Masch Lucas/Poulson Gerrard But if Aqua is going i don't see what else he can play really. Gerrard may have to drop deep at timesIf we win the midfield battle and Torres plays i can see us winning the game though, if the wide players play well
Stevie H Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 i say go for them. i don't think they're that good at all.their defence is well getatable. richards is a dog and kolo toure's rubbish. gerrard off torres for this and we'll make chances.
Hieronymus Bosch Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Milner is ineligible for this one isn't he?Don't think so.
Nate. Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 They might have bought loads of expensive players, but their first 11 to me isn't much better than it was. We should really be having these.
Epic Swindle Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 We need to match them in midfield, which i think means playing Masch Poulson Gerrard But if Aqua is going i don't see what else he can play really. Jova and Kuyt either side of Gerrard.
Sion Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Post your thoughts. A sneaky win here could set us up nicely going into a decent run of games, and put Mancini under even more pressure. decent run of games? WBA at home yeah. But then we play Birmingham away - one of the toughest non-top 4 aways and then Man Utd away. Would take a draw here. With Dowd reffing us. Hopefully no Cole means Gerrard behind Torres. Which would make me 10000% more confident
RedHarvest Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) Not gonna have Agger are we? oops Cole suspended ReinaJohnson Carra Skrtel Aurelio Masch Poulsen Kuyt Gerrard Jovanivic Torres Edited August 20, 2010 by RedHarvest
AE Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Milner is ineligible for this one isn't he? No - the "new Steven Gerrard" is available for them
Hightown Phil Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 It's quite blatantly going to be a game bereft any creativity and chances and be a totally mundane 0-0 draw.
floyd Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) Gerrard to Dowd "that was a clear penalty on Torres"Dowd "Not on my watch' If anybody thinks were going to get something out of this match with this bent cvnt, you are clearly as mad as Cassano Edited August 20, 2010 by floyd
Smith Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Not gonna have Agger are we? oops Cole suspended ReinaJohnson Carra Skrtel Aurelio Masch Poulsen Kuyt Gerrard Jovanivic Torres That's the team I think.
Dan Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Sat in with the home fans for this one. Not really looking forward to it. Can't see anything better than a draw to be honest.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 i say go for them. i don't think they're that good at all.agree. With 125 new players in the squad it's likely it'll take a bit of time to bed in for them let's smash them
Flasher Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 There is no way Poulsen is starting this game. It will be the Rafa line up but with Jova on the left.
