This, 100%. What did they pay us - something like £700,000?

 

He was f*cking brilliant still when we sold him and was class for Everton for a good few years. Definitely something odd was going on there with him and Kenny, he kept being left out after playing really well too.

We got 40m after 5 years service, making 38m profit in the process.

He's a good player to lose, but can't really be considered a bad sale, he just wasn't replaced.

Beardsley.......by far. If I had to name 5-6 major events that led to the downfall of Liverpool, his sale would be one of them.

And he still barely has anything to do with the club. I know he's a newcastle legend but its like he never played for us or won the league here for the amount of times he's been back or involved.

What is it with matchday food and drink ?

Has nobody got any responsibility for it, having a bit of pride in their work. Its like they had a meeting and recruited the most gormless people to develop criminally bad levels of service for s*** product. I'm not being harsh am I ?

it's not in the league of some of the ones here but Sheedy went on to be a decent player for Everton as well also selling Hyppia and replacing him with the Greek was a bit daft and I'm still not sure why Clemence left when he did

Same as the other 'not in the same league' ones, but Owen to Real - purely for the price. £8m and a year later Real sell him for double that.

Not really what you would call the worst sale. We didnt have any real choice in that one.

That's the problem with a lot of these though. Selling players who don't want to be here.

 

How do you compare selling a good player who for one reason or another wants to leave, with selling a sh*t player who doesn't.
