Is Wilshere in the England squad for any reason other than because he plays for Arsenal and has been hyped up a lot?

He could be the new superstar, but as of yet he's done nothing.

Forest lost, which is always good to see.

Part of me wants them to get promoted into the Premiership so next season they can get battered every week and go down again.

Massively disprectful of forum lore in that title.

Not happy about a whole season like this.

F'in awful summer this. Rafa going, the Gerrard/Torres wiill they/won't they, pie-in-the-sky takeover talk, Reina joining Arsenal and just when you think it can't get any worse... Toady gets dropped.

Sort it Hassony or we'll unleash a world of pain on yo' ass.

Legia Warsaw 5 - 6 Arsenal

What the f*** went on there then

They had a strong line up out too

I hope thats a reflection of the panic among their fans that they haven't strengthened the back 5 properly, rather than just a mad knockabout preseason friendly.

this is just the start

from now on I think I'll start rating films with proper ratings as well rather than the 6/10 rubbish

Living amongst them its better to see their hopes built up and then crushed every year. Blackpool battering them in the play off's was fantastic. 11 years they've been down now.

The King Billy thing makes me piss too. He'll be off before the end of September.

Michael Owen's prematch discussion on the charity shield has been all about the pitch and injuries.

Owen suffered a serious hamstring injury on the much-maligned Wembley turf during the League Cup final against Aston Villa last season. It scuppered his hopes of making the England World cup squad.

The 30-year-old striker is hoping he comes away from Sunday's trip to north London injury free.

"They were there doing something on the pitch when I was at Wembley recently," Owen said.

"Something new has been installed which means 10% of the turf is now synthetic. Hopefully it makes it better because the Wembley pitch must have had something to do with my injury.

"I wasn't the only injury to come out of that game. There were quite a lot of other injured players. That is the worrying bit.

"If it had just been me you could say it was a freak accident."

I'd pay good money to watch a Lee Cattermole yard-dog flatten the precious little get for 90mins.
