Unfortunately today we lost 152 lives in Islamabad in a plane crash. The Air Blue flight crashed into the surrounding mountains which resulted in no survivors unfortunately. Ive used AirBlue a few times and its a bit like RyanAir. The weather has been pretty s*** all week here with thunderstorms and lightning all over. We were supposed to go to Islamabad but I stayed behind a nd a colleague left for Islamabad on another airline which thankfully got diverted from Islamabad to Lahore around half an hour before the plane crash.

I have noted when flying in and from almost every airport that postponing flights is generally avoided by the airlines. I was once flying from Manchester to London and it felt that life is almost over when the oxygen masks dropped and plane started shaking. The weather forecast was horrible at the time/. Is there any particular reason other than financial for airlines not delaying passengers and is there a regulatory body which determines whether its safe to fly.
