4-1 on aggregate. That's a shocker of a result for Bohs and a huge financial kick in the goolies.

Eoin Hand was on the radio basically saying all Bohs had to do was to turn up and was talking more about the next round than this game.

L.O.I. hits another low tonight.

its a f***ing shocker that. how have the other Irish sides done? i know dundalk took a hiding in their last game, have they all been getting stuffed? the northern teams have put a better show on this year. Portadown got through a first round, Cliftonville won their first leg last week, and Linfield managed a good draw against Rosenborg

Shamrock Rovers given Juventus incentive

Friday, 16 July 2010 21:32

Shamrock Rovers will face Juventus in the third round of the Europa League qualifying if the Tallaght side see off Bnei Yehuda next week.

Rovers drew 1-1 with the Israeli club in Tallaght Stadium on Thursday night and face a tough task to progress.

The third round draw has paired the Hoops or Beni with the Italian giant. Rovers would be at home first for the tie.

CS Maritimo 3-2 Sporting Fingal

Thursday, 15 July 2010 22:48

Sporting Fingal conceded a late winner against CS Maritimo in their Europa League first leg tie at the Estadio da Madeira, but still have a good chance to progress in the competition.

The FAI Ford Cup holders grabbed an all-important away goal on 33 minutes when Glen Crowe planted a header into the top corner, but Esteves and Cherrad netted in the second half to reverse the deficit.

Levski Sofia 6-0 Dundalk

Thursday, 15 July 2010 22:44

Dundalk's Europa League hopes came crashing down around them at the Georgi Asparuhov stadium in Sofia as they were outclassed by a rampant Levski side.

Ian Foster's men had no answer to their more illustrious opponents and they can count themselves lucky that the damage wasn't worse ahead of next week's dead rubber second leg at Oriel Park.

Foster recalled goalkeeper Peter Cherrie after a lengthy lay off with a foot injury, and after just one training session the Scotsman looked rusty.

Delighted to see Bohs get thumped - absolutely hate the hoof and chase merchants. The sooner they clear off to Harristown the better.

Sporting Fingal? did they used to be someone else? thats a cracking result for them, and Rovers too.

Sporting Fingal were created by Fingal County Council to encourage the development of football in north county Dublin. They were admitted to the league when Kilkenny City withdrew a few years ago.

It's the best result in their glorious (3 year) history.

Bnei Yehuda 0 Shamrock Rovers 1. . Aggregate 1-2.

Shamrock Rovers play Juventus in the next Europa qualifying round. Great tie for them.

Rubs more salt in Bohs wounds.

Fantastic result for Rovers playing in really hot and humid conditions. Great to play Juve in the next round although I think a draw with a chance of making the group stages would have been better.

I can only assume all is not well in the Bohs camp as they should be beating TNS.
