Mad people

We were discussing a local footie manager, a real hard case, big powerful fella and very physically imposing, he's been very succesful in recent years in the non league semi pro game, he is undoubtedly somebody you would not want to cross. Anyway, one of the lads I play golf with told me he'd played football with his brother and he was not only bigger and more evil looking he was actually worse to deal with because unlike his bro who simply had a short fuse and lost it now and then, this fella really did have a screw loose. This is how he told it.

'We played a game in Windsor one Sunday and he got involved with their player, fisticuffs ensued and he laid him out cold. It was uncalled for and the opposition had a right go at him without getting too close of course, and so did his team mates. He was sent off and he walked off to the changing rooms cursing the ref, the opponents and his team mates,off he went with the raging hump. the game resumed. Five minutes later as the game wore on we saw him walking back carrying a 3 iron and a bag full of golf balls. Laid them out in a neat line on the touchline and started drilling them across the park, he could obviously play golf 'cos he drilled them nice and low..'

'Jesus' says I 'Did he hit anybody, what did you do'. He hit two players on the leg, not one person said a word, we carried on in total silence, 21 players and the ref, not a peep, we all played right wing and they defended accordingly but we were literally too scared to leave the pitch and too sacaed to draw his attention. He ran out of balls and f*cked off.'

'I take it he was dropped the following week?' says I.

'He didn't show, if he had we'd have picked him 'cos nobody had the balls to tell him he wasn't playing.

Incidentally, this lad's mother was murdered when he was a kid so he has half an excuse for his angst I suppose. Being as it didn't actually affect me 'cos i wasn't there I laughed my f*cking head off!
