Cottage in the Lake District

Am thinking of doing a trip up to the Lakes for a long weekend in Spetember and wondered if anyone had any decent recommendations on self catering cottages and which part of the lakes to go to. It'll be me and the missus and our 5 month old.

 

Thinking of doing some walks, general site seeing and maybe some fishing.
