I suppose these could have gone in the Liverpool forum, but a moderator can move them if that be the will of the people.

A couple of quotes from Rafa's press conference at Inter this morning that I found interesting. The whole thing is here: http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=34110&L=en

"We need a strong mentality. The team, club and fans. All together. Like at Liverpool. All together."

"In England I was a manager. Here I am a coach. We all have our opinions, but the team has a sporting director and a president. Transfers are their responsibility. I have to work on the pitch."

Q: You said that you prefer to talk about players who are here, but what about Mascherano? Can he and Cambiasso play together?

"I'll talk about Cambiasso because he's here. He's a very intelligent player who can play with Stankovic, Thiago Motta, Zanetti. He can play with anyone."

"We will change a bit of everything, and then I hope we go on the pitch and score lots of goals. And we need to change something here in the press room... It's like a sauna. We need to install air conditioning..."

How are the press warming to him Matty?

Too early to say - they'll miss the Mourinho circus for sure. I can easily imagine the frustration growing when he refuses to play their game.

The fans are currently very welcoming, they're expecting bettter style of football... :)

Benitez is very well respected in Italy. They know a good manager when they see one and are impressed with his CV. Not saying that he will not be criticised, he will. However, more often than not criticism is in the form of post-match interviews with detailed questions. That is something Rafa can deal with and I am sure he would quite enjoy a certain level of intelligent debate.

Nice one Rafa. Keep having a dig at them till they are out the door.

Rafael Benitez: After Liverpool experience it's nice to have an owner who understands football and loves the club

"The chairman here is a very nice person and he has passion for his club. He understands the game. So that is totally different to the situation that we had in the last years at Liverpool."
