Does anyone know what personnel is still at the club? On the main site it still shows Mauricio Pellegrino, Paco De Miguel, Xavi Valero and Rodriguez to name a few of the Benitez clan still at the club, but watching pre season training the other day there was only Sammy Lee and Peter Brukner who I noticed still at Melwood. Any ideas?

I'm not arsed, it'll all resolve itself one way or the other, in a christing mish-mash, then eventually the club will be sold.

It might as well be Frank Worthington, Mauricio Pellegrino, Todd Unctious, Pele, Steve McMahon and his wife and Gary Gillespie

This should be the stock reply in every thread.

There is a fitness coach called Darren Burgess who is new to the staff this summer, he is the one of the left. No mention of him on the main site though.

It should be all of these.

Why wouldn't it be these?

Is that Mike Kelly on Roy's left? The People really is a comic paper if it is.

Its Peter Brukner.

Burgess is another Aussie, the new head of fitness and conditioning. I imagine he was brought in by Brukner as he worked with him with the Aussie national team. A quick google tells me he was woth Aussie-rules side Port Adelaide until 2007 when he was head-hunted to be the Socceroos' first full time fitness coach. He spent a period with us (along with other top clubs like Milan) in 2006 studying our methods.

And now we have brought him in to take advantage of his unique and world leading methods. Is it just me, or....

According to @TheKopMagazine on Twitter

"Word from The Academy is that Rodolfo Borrell will be staying as U18s manager."

At last some positive news.

Having a varied sporting background (Aussie Rules is a very demanding game) and the fact that he has gone around the world looking at how things are done is a good sign for me. Fitness and conditioning is one aspect of the training where you don't have to be from a football background.

Seems like Rafa has been joined by Pellegrino, Valero, De Miguel. And still no Word on Roys back room team.

Liverpool's Sports Science and Sports Medicine department has been strengthened with the arrival of new backroom staff.

Also Two physiotherapists from the Australian 'Socceroo' national team, Darren Burgess and Phil Coles, have joined newly appointed Head of Sports Medicine and Science Dr Peter Brukner at Melwood.

Tottenham Hotspur's club doctor, Zaf Iqubal, has also been recruited along with Jordan Milsom, who joins the backroom team as Sports Scientist.

The club will also be working with John Moores University through Sports Science Consultant Barry Drust, who will spend a couple of days at Melwood each week.

Valero is going to be a huge miss by the sound of it.

I can't see Reina's form diminishing all that much with a change of coach, can you ?

He's been a model of consistency since we got him, through various goalkeeping coaches.

He has but last season he was just astonishing.

Its not just Reina anyway, Torres has mentioned how he's made it easier for him to score goals. Called him a "genius" I believe. It's a blow, no doubt about it.
