Day one in the job - Hodgson tells us he has been assured that any money from transfers he will get to buy new players. Day two in the job he approves the sale of Benayoun to Chelsea, but he will not get the money for transfer fees. Hodgson had already said publicly all he cared about was the footballing side.

 

Broughton had already told us we don't need to sell any players. Did the board lie to Roy and broughton to us or did Roy lie to us ?

Rafa signed a 5 year contract just over a year ago and yet he's gone. 3 years looks stable, but is not so daunting any new owner wouldn't mind paying off the last two years or whatever if they saw fit. In essence, as Benzo says - he's a caretaker.

I'm pretty sure that it was done a while before Hodgson was appointed.

 

Anyway, the worst Hodgson can be in all this is a pawn. As frustrating as that is for most of us, attack the people he's acting as a pawn for because they're the ones that matter.

tbf nearly every post or poll for the last 3 months have been loaded or limited scope for discussion as people are entrenched in their opinion and we don't have any football to watch to see who's right and who's wrong. Its boring and sad. I would say I can't wait for the season to start so that we can get backl to what matters but this club is slowly dying while the two yanks are here. I'm not in a good mood today.

The Benny bit is stupid. It was agreed weeks ago, by Rafa: it has nothing to do with RH.

 

The other bit I can't see the point of. We're being sold. We need a manager. How many options were there queuing up for the job? Why can't we at least wait until he makes some decisions before launching into this petty crap?

I know it's early days and all that, but he's starting to p*ss me off already, with his not wanting to upset Fergie, or Fulham by bringing Hangeland with him. If that's his attitude then I'm even more convinced his stay will be a short and pretty disastrous one. Not even convinced the club is genuinely up for sale.
