Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I decided a while ago - for my sins/stupidity - that I'd like to do a triathlon. I'd always liked the idea of doing a marathon, but it's really not that good for you, so I figured a triathlon - Olympic, not Ironman or half IM - is as much a challenge. f*** me is it....the running is piss; I've always been a strong runner, so that's no worry. The swimming however.... Kinell, I'm still early in the training & it's not structured training yet - more getting into a position where I can start on a timetable, but the swimming is a f***ing killer. A Sprint requires a 750m swim & an Olympic a 1,500m swim. Those are presumably w/o stopping. It's brutal. The only marginal upside is open water swims go with the tide, so you don't need to do as much work, but this is going to be a f***ing painful road. Haven't even got to the cycling - that'll be ok as long as it's relatively flat
