Rafa's own short commings and pluses for him leaving

  1. No more Lucas and Masch as central midfield pair. He stuck with this all season despite the fact it only work a couple of times. he didnt believe in it himself, as each time we were losing he would pull Gerrard back into the middle. Also, he failed to understand that their is no point playing Lucas and Masch in 90% of our home games because the oppostion put 10 men behind the ball and hit it long.
  2. He couldnt man manage, ok, we knew what Pennant and Bellamy were like before we signed them, but he must have know what he was getting so why sign them and then say they have the wrong attitude? Also, we lost Crouch, Alonso, Keane and Arberloa because of his attitude and dealing with players.
  3. He would cut off his nose to spite his face, the old saying is that you didnt get rid of a player until you have a equal or better replacement. Why sell keane and rely on an 18 french kid, Keane played well for us, started to score goals and was involved in alot of the foward play. plus other i cant be bothered to go into.
  4. No more stupid cringe worthy interviews with the press, ok they are a*** holes, but his behavoiur lacked class. Ps. did any one notice how he became more and more withdraw in interviews once Kenny arrived back at the club? Was Kenny brought in to see what was happening and the result was bumping Rafa? If the club annouce Kenny as manager until a replacement is found then we will have our answer.
  5. He played the blame game to much, blamed the owners and played games in the press for leverage on a new deal and even his leaving package.
  6. He falls out with everyone, players and owners maybe you could understand, but he fell out with Paco?
  7. He bought to many make weights, why buy three crap players when you could get one good one.

Rafas obsticals and good points

  1. Never give money at the write time, he wanted Alves, Silva, Milito and many others. Often ended up with third or fourth choice buys.
  2. He can spot good players.
  3. He is a good tactcian.
  4. The payers didnt nothing to help his cause, the team may have short commings, but apart from Renia, Zorba and Torres (when fit) the rest of the players were a disgrace.
  5. Players live in cloud cuckoo land, it must be difficult to deal with such absurdity. Mash said his form dropped because of the interest from Barc, he wants to remember were he was before Rafa picked him up, thats right, playing for those would beaters westham. He was only kept out of the team by the midfield genius of Hayden Mullins. If we an offer of over 20 million for him we should snap their hand off. Yossi says he expect to go to Chelsea, if Ancelotti needs a player that falls over alot and gives the ball way then Yossi is the man to go for, again if they offer more than we paid snapp their hand off.

Took over a team struggling to qualify for the CL every year. Turned them into Number One ranked team in Europe.

Two Champions League Finals

One unbelievable Champions League Win.

One CL Semi Final (put out by a Riise og), and one CL Quarter Final.

Broke the club record for consecutive wins, (and maybe consecutibve clean sheets iirc?)

Got the clubs highest points total in the league, only a few goals short of winning it.

Thats helpful, thanks for the debate, not!

Ok fine

1. We may well have Lucas and Masch as our midfield pair next season. More likely it will be worse cos Masch will leave. So be careful what you wish for It is very unlikely he saw this partnership playing as many games as it did. But Aquilani is a s****house. And yes Rafa signed him

2. You don't know about his man management skills. They are all just rumours. We lost Crouch to first team football and more money. We lost Alonso probably for a number of reasons, we lost Arbeloa cos he wanted to go back to Spain, we sold Keane cos he was s****

3. We sold Keane cos he was s**** and a moaning c***. Rafa expected to get the money. He didn't. Thats not Rafa's fault. We were boss from January on that season anyway

4. Rafa has more class than anyone who has ever interviewed him. Its the media in this country that have no class. And he brought Kenny back. How does that fit into your scenario?

5. Rafa battled the owners for the good of the club, not himself. He failed. But his motives shouldn't be questionned. And most of the leaks you talk of are from 'senior sources'

6. He hasn't fell out with me

7. At first he was criticised for buying quantity over quality. Lately he has been criticised for overspending on certain players and leaving the squad short. If you have a shortage of money you can't win

Happy?

I don't have the energy to a do a full, drawn-out assessment of Rafa or his reign at the club. However, I will do my best to summarize it in one sentence: The presence of Hicks and Gillett made sure his reign was a damn sight less fruitful than it ever was.

this could be a first, but apart from the thread title and the dozens of other spelling mistakes, did you also fail to spell your own name correctly 'Scgotg?'

Depends who the next boss is

He couldnt man manage, ok, we knew what Pennant and Bellamy were like before we signed them, but he must have know what he was getting so why sign them and then say they have the wrong attitude? Also, we lost Crouch, Alonso, Keane and Arberloa because of his attitude and dealing with players.

You've played a blinder there, son. He never said Bellamy had the wrong attitude. In fact Bellamy agreed to leave to pave the way for Torres. Pennant was a tool, signed because we had limited funds. Crouch chose to go, Keane was s*** (as he continued to be at Spurs) and I'm still sure wasn't his idea, and Arberloa wanted to go back to Spain.

Keane played well for us

You're an idiot

[*]No more stupid cringe worthy interviews with the press, ok they are a*** holes, but his behavoiur lacked class. Ps. did any one notice how he became more and more withdraw in interviews once Kenny arrived back at the club? Was Kenny brought in to see what was happening and the result was bumping Rafa? They were funny. He had a point about the owners, and while the Ferguson one came back to bite him on the a*** he was right. And as Rafa brought Kenny back to the club, you're way off (what a shock)

[*]He played the blame game to much, blamed the owners and played games in the press for leverage on a new deal and even his leaving package. He falls out with everyone, players and owners maybe you could understand, but he fell out with Paco?

Paco was applying for jobs, I seem to recall. And at what point did he use the press over his pay-off? He didn't speak until the deal was done

He bought to many make weights, why buy three crap players when you could get one good one

Because we needed three players, but couldn't afford the really god ones. If you need three, buying one kinda leaves you a smidge short. Were you off the day they taught maths?

Now go back to your padded room, there's a love

Rafa Bad: - He bought to many make weights, why buy three crap players when you could get one good one.

Rafa Good: - Never give money at the write time, he wanted Alves, Silva, Milito and many others. Often ended up with third or fourth choice buys.

can't you see the correlation here?

vetoed from above on the vast majority of occasions he wanted to break the bank on a single player, and ends up having the bulk his squad with average filler, taking risks like bellamy, pennant & voronin to name a few. (i actually saw bellamy named as a transfer failure and about 5 lines later brought up as a class striker Rafa let go on the guardian website yesterday)

end of story, he's been let down by the players this season big time (Pepe Reina an obvious exclusion to this). looks like they've got their wish, let's see if we can get back in to the top 4 again their way.

Die of cancer you piece of sh*t.

There's an unbelievable amount of complete bellends about at the moment.

I have already been warned for abuse in the last 24 hours because I can't be bothered having a constructive arguments with people like this idiot, who is clearly a brainless t*** and can't understand anything other than that which tabloids tell them.

Stupid c***!

You don't know that

the rest of its rubbish too

Considering Masch is extremely likely to leave, given his contract situation and closeness to Rafa I would say it is a safe bet we won't be seeing Lucas and Masch paired together again.

Hurrah!

Lucas and Plessis it is...

Rafa's own short commings

Rafa clearly does not have what it takes to become a porn star, despite the goatee.

A lot of your points are speculative and assumptive I feel.
