David Hodgson Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Can't see this anywhere6pmGet down if you can Is this the right thing to be seen to be protesting about if we want to unite all of our fans against G & H ? A big big percentage of Liverpool fans in the city and outside it, will today be thinking 'good, it was time for Rafa to go'. People may not like that but its the truth, and upping the ante on this issue is only going to divide us.
Jarg Armani Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Can someone please move this to the cupboard under the stairs forum please.
KIDORIGINAL Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I'm actually doing my best to book a ferry over this afternoon and stay overnight with a mate. I've never been this angry over football, ever.

People may not like that but its the truth, and upping the ante on this issue is only going to divide us. The protest is against the owners and the board (whoever the f*** that is now). Its about uniting against the owners. There will be anti-Rafa fans there "Shankly talked of a holy trinity at Anfield - The players, the manager and the fans. The directors were there to just sign the cheques. Maybe someone should tell our board that now. Because once again, they get it wrong. Once again, they think they know best when they clearly don't. Once again they ignore the history, tradition, the legacies of OUR football club. Whether you love Rafa or hate him, IT IS BIGGER THAN THAT. The position of manager, made famous by Shankly, Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish,is being undermined by people who know nothing about football. A manager of LFC is having his position made untenable because of the financial mess created by a debt we didn't want. All we want is our football club back. They won't give it to us on a plate. So we have to fight for it, and make sure we get it. It's not about Rafa - It's about our future. Thursday Night - 6pm at Anfield. Let's make ourselves heard. Tom and George and your henchmen - Get out of our club now!"
Sion Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) What is this? is it a general anti-sacking-Rafa protest? or a general anti-G&H&Purslow protest? I fancy turning up to either like. edit: nevermind just seen^ Hopefully a good turnout Edited June 3, 2010 by Sion

You know I agree with all that John, but then why time the protest on the day the owners make a decision that say 50% of Liverpool fans will agree with? If a protest goes ahead tonight its undoubtedly about the decision to sack Rafa. Why not let Rafa go (if go he must) and then have a protest the owners next week ? I understand that media attention will be focused now, but this will just be reported as a protest about sacking the manager.
MFletcher Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Do you work for them, DH? Honestly, look at the bigger picture here.

It is related to the decision to sack Rafa, in that noone trusts the people who sacked him, whether it is the right decision or notWe don't trust them to make the decision for the right reasons, or to get the right personPeople are very angry in the city today, and so its best to strike whilst the iron is hot. People will be interviewed at the protest. Its up to them to communicate the message we are trying to get across Plus what if they hire a new manager next week? Do we have to put it off again so we don't upset him?

David Hodgson Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Don't go then I won't be. I don't agree with it. Doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on it. You going ? Dont worry, its not going to make anything change. He's a gonner. That's a relief. Protest away.
sutty Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 OK, I take your point (about the potential impact) I just don't see the sacking of Rafa as the right stick to beat them with. It's a catalyst for the protest not the point You are being obtuse. I won't be. I don't agree with it. Doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on it. You going ? If I was in the city I would. Unfortunately I am 4 hours away

David Hodgson Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I'm happy to beat them with any stick goingI'm seeing tonight as a possibilty to build momentum Maybe. I fear it might undermine the cause. There's plenty in the city who do want Rafa out, and they aren't going to have any sympathy with tonight's protest if they feel it is about calling for him to stay, and i think that's how its going to be perceived.
owenthomas Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 I'll be there. Definitely. Whether you back the decision to sack Rafa or not you should be there to make up the numbers. Our fans for the most part have sat idly by while the c**** have raped our club and its about time we made our voice heard. I agree with Gibo, its a chance to build momentum. A chance to start getting people on the bandwagon against the owners. A chance to get the message out there about what is REALLY wrong at our club. If you're about in the City you should get there tonight. If you can make it at all - for however long - you should be there tonight. There was a time many years ago when this clubs fans would have been in uproar and these two c**** would have been hounded out of town. Not now. You, me (i've sat back too long as well), all of us need to start making our point stronger. It's not getting through at the moment so let's shout louder. Let's get our fkin club back. I am sick of these t***s. I'll be there tonight. If you're not then you're a let down to yourself and your fellow fans. Tonight isn't just about Rafa (and even if you don't like him you should, really, be slightly annoyed at the way the manager of LFC has been treated over the last three years). Tonight is about making a stand about what these no marks are doing to our club. The one man trying to make a stand has gone so now you have to get off your a*** and do it yourself. As i said, i'll be there.
Kaizer Sauze Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 It's not about Rafa going, it's about who made the decision and the reasons why
Spion kop Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 It's not about Rafa going, it's about who made the decision and the reasons whyDo we know anything beyond conjecture regarding this?
johngibo YPC Posted June 3, 2010 Author Posted June 3, 2010 Do we know anything beyond conjecture regarding this? I think we know who has made the decisionAnd we know they are all c*nts
