Nope, voted by the Uefa Executive. Not accountable to anyone! Perfect for the stich up.

 

Am cool with it being in France. It's the first 24 team Euros and they needed good infrastructure to pull it off. Would have preferred it to have been in Italy, since I was too young for 1990 but having been in France in 98 I am happy to go back.

They should select the highest ranked 20 sides and then let the minnows fight it out for the rest.

after the uncertainty with this poland/ukraine thing not that strange that they're going for the safest bet

the top 8 ranking teams should go straight through to the finals. that will open up the qualification for the the remaining 16 and provide a better competition overall. The lack of competitive football will equalise the teams better for the finals.

No, there'll be 3 groups of 18 teams each, playing 34 matches each, from which the top 7 will qualify and the 3 8th placed teams will play a sequence of 12 home/away playoffs to decide who goes forward to the grand playoff final to be played over 3 legs in Manilla, Kinshasa and Irkutsk

It will far more beneficial for the clubs to not have their players going through meaningless qualifiers against the likes of San Marino and Andorra. They are not progressing at all in international football, they should have to pre-qualify.

I agree with the pre-qualification idea, TBF

 

But better yet would be to limit international football to amateur players only
