Travelling to the US

I'm very paroniod in sending personal info out onto the web so just have some questions.

 

Has anyone ever filled in one of these ESTA online forms? (Electronic System for Travel Authorization)

 

I haven't been the states in about 10 years so I remember filling out a green form on the plane before we landed, is this the same thing?

 

Will this get me through passport control quicker?
