Ostrich Man Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Awful...read a piece in the paper the other day about a guy whose Granny had lifted him out the stand but didnt make it herself....f***ing terrible....horrendous footage..never forget that. RIP.
Swipe Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I can't recall ever seeing the footage. Can only imagine what it's like.
stressederic Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I can't recall ever seeing the footage. Can only imagine what it's like. Hasn't the footage actually be banned from broadcast? I seem to remember hearing that it's only used for fire safety videos now. The whole thing scares the hell out of me, it sounds absolutely horrific.

I can remember from the footage I saw being shocked how quickly it spread and really took hold.

I don't know but I have seen the footage many times, and the thing that sticks in my mind is the fella whose hair ignites just because he is close to it. Horrible pictures.

The whole thing scares the hell out of me, it sounds absolutely horrific. Ive seen the video twice in the last 6 months on fire training, its is horrific. I don't know but I have seen the footage many times, and the thing that sticks in my mind is the fella whose hair ignites just because he is close to it. Horrible pictures. There was a father and son who literally sat rooted at the far end of the stand from where the fire started while the fire moves towards them and then at the last possible second get up and run on to the pitch. Really odd. Then of course there were the c**** singing and dancing on the pitch as people were burning to death. Edited May 11, 2010 by D.Boon

ManxRed Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 do you think they had a scooby what was happening in reality. A big stand full of people going up in flames in seconds and people rolling around on the pitch on fire might have been a bit of a clue.
Billy Dane Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Awful...read a piece in the paper the other day about a guy whose Granny had lifted him out the stand but didnt make it herself....f***ing terrible....horrendous footage..never forget that. RIP. Read that as well, very sad. Remember the footage when it happened, horrific as others have said. RIP

Bootser Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I remember watching the live footage and remember shouting at the telly - 'Run for f***s sake, run'. Some aul fella was just sitting there. Terrible event. Terry Yorath spoke very well about it. RIP
