Red Kent Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I honestly feel he is there for one reason and one reason only. To get rid of Rafa by fair means or foul as Purslow and Ayres have failed to do it. Who better to do Hicks and Gillets dirty work than a Chelsea season ticket holder. Someone who really does not give a s*** what happens to our club. He is not here for the long haul he is here to ensure that Hicks and Gillet get their final nail well and truly embedded in our coffin. I was blinded by the crap I saw on the park. And it was crap there is no mistake in that. But when you walk down the corridors of Anfield and at every corner there is someone waiting to put the knife in its not suprising this is reflected on the park. I have always put what happens on the park above what happens off it. I need to rethink this after current developments. And yes I have had a rethink after reading Wayne's posts as his opinion is something I hold in high regard. We need a miracle to get out of this.
Maldini Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I really can't see how we're going to get out of this. I just hope KIDORIGINAL isn't on the wind up and Ambani's interest is for real.
Bo Benn Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I think you are paranoing a bit here. At least I hope so. I don't see how H&G will benefit from getting rid of Rafa before the club is sold, as he is contracted and part of the club's assets. Broughton was brought on to sell the club, Purslow is still managing it no?

Anyone that arrives at our club with their blessing is not to be trusted.

They could have sided with parry. They sacked parry at a cost of 3m quid Employing people to get rid of rafa costs them money. Getting rid of rafa and ensuring he buttons it will cost more than 3m quid. Parting with money is not really there game. Its not a happy ship and there have been costly squabbles but the good ship hasn't sunk yet and land is on the horizon. I'll stop with shipping analogies for now.

Kev, a lot of what you say strikes a cord and I'm agreeing with you and Wayne over Rafa staying in situ given his stance about the cancer that own our club. Re; this fella. He's not appointed by them but over them. Of course, they had to 'agree' to him but if not him somebody else as a condition of continued funding and extension plus BarCap getting involved. Not to say he's anything other than in it for himself and will be extremely well rewarded for his time here.

My fears are what he has to do to get that wedge. Whilst Purslow and Ayres are supporters and maybe in the cold light of day that has stopped them doing what G&H wanted them to. Where as Broughton has no attachment to us at all and has a massive pay off after a short stint which makes him very dangerous indeed.
cymrococh Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) I think you're being a bit naive in respect of what being a supporter means for these c*nts. It's as relevant as when a player claims to be a supporter. They're there for the money, power and acclaim. Edited May 7, 2010 by Captain Sanil Crastow
Athelstan Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Sadly the club needs someone of Broughton's stature for the outside world (ie potential purchasers). All previous people have proved to be void of all moral worth. Whatever, he's paid it may well be money well spent
Maldini Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 The interview with him is up http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/22-questions-for-the-chairman
CarraLegend Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 He's pretty straight up, he doesnt give an answer a certain way just because a Liverpool supporter would like to hear it that way. He stressed a matter of months again. Lets hope its not 100 months!
Maldini Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Mostly fluff, but he insisted it was the owners' decision to sell and not a forced sale.
CarraLegend Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Mostly fluff, but he insisted it was the owners' decision to sell and not a forced sale. Hopefully that puts Fyds tedious, annoying theories to bed.
Hassony Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Hopefully that puts Fyds tedious, annoying theories to bed. dream on
Lee W Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Mostly fluff, but he insisted it was the owners' decision to sell and not a forced sale. Not forced, just "gently" persuaded
Montse Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Plus Torres and Gerrard wont be sold - which is nice to hear ......

His remit will demand one thing that is worse than Rafa leaving. He is going to have to balance the books. And we have a £10mill charge from RBS just for the present 6 month refinance. Similar or more punative in 6 months time. Consider that last years financial report shows us making £27mill but having to pay £40mill just for interest and refinancing charges. I have zero doubt he/we will sell core squad members to cover our debt and balance the books. Edited May 7, 2010 by Flight

redjersey Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Plus Torres and Gerrard wont be sold - which is nice to hear ...... Well, they don't HAVE to be sold. Which isn't quite the same.
