Red Kent Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 ...whatever their nationality are ruining the game, something has to be done.
Epic Swindle Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Thought this was about players play acting. Refs are s*** too like.
Red Kent Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Thought this was about players play acting. Refs are s*** too like. Players dont help the situation, but some of those dives were getting 9.5 9.5 9.7 9.5. FIFA should bring players to book for diving by issueing a caution after the game, it would stop it virtually overnight.

If the refs want to stop them, then book them more often f***ing spineless useless w*****s. Ruining the game

The problem referees have is the players are so f***ing good at it these days.
Red Kent Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Alves dived - not booked. If the refs want to stop them, then book them more often f***ing spineless useless w*****s. Ruining the game But many referees cannot tell the difference between a dive and a foul, and far to often get both wrong. It really frustrates the hell out of me because far too many games are getting settled by terrible refereeing decisions. They need to be held accountable by interviews at the end of the game, if they want the limelight - give it to them.

Cheesecake Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Busquets pulling one hand away from his face to see what the ref was doing and then putting it back to role around on the ground somemore is pathetic though. It cheating plan and simple and youre right it just seems to be acceptable in some european countries to do it - Portugal being possibly the league with the worst offenders, If Busquets played for say Tottenham or Bolton or anyone else in the premier league they'd be ripped to shreds by fans of every other club if je did that in a league game.

I'll always remember one of Rigobert Song's first games for us, he got fouled and started rolling around the pitch like he was on fire. Carra went up to him and told him to get up, "We don't do that kind of thing here" said Jamie.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 the players have to be accountable too. Problem is, it's an ECSF. The 'win by any means' mantra chimes loudest. Like I've said, I think this WC is going to be spoiled by a combo of 'look at me' refs, purely s*** refs, and players making it as hard for the refs as possible FIFA will do nothing about it apart from some stupid cosmetic s**** like insisting socks can't be pulled above the knees
Swipe Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Biscuits should be pulled for that. He's a bit of a s***house in general, but that was shameful. Shocking showing from the refs in both semi-final ties.
CarraLegend Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 All I generally worry about before games now is officials. Used to be the oppo's best players but horrific decisions are made game after game after game and some are so dodgy its unreal.

Me too, I always look to see who the ref is as they can definately change the game.
Epic Swindle Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Me too, I always look to see who the ref is as they can definately change the game. It's always been the same though hasn't it? We still talk about horrendous decisions made 30 and 40 years ago. I don't envy them, especially with the constant media intrusion these days. One thing is certain the gamesmanship and blatant conning of officials is at its peak, and worse still is now just considered part and parcel of the game.

Obviously the coverage these days highlights everything, 30-40 years ago there were mistakes but I'm betting quite a lot less than today. Laws of Football have changed so much in that time, back then most of them were "If in the opinion of the referee....". now it's, you shall caution, you shall dismiss. etc. Referees are told how to referee, and told badly.
Nebraska Red Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 The players don't care how bad they look when they do all the cheating, the refs are clueless most of the time, the 4th official often looks like a deaf mute and is incapable of getting the ref's attention. Some of the crap tha twent on in tha tagme today was a joke, it made a mockery of the game. Both sides were intent on bending the rules as much as possible and doing whatever it took to get an opponent booked or dismissed. The Inter keeper got booked for time wasting and then did the same thing on numerous occasions, yet the ref does not have the balls to give him a deserved 2nd yellow, so why bother giving the first? I have never seen so many "Didi crumples" in 1 game, both sides were at it from the 1st minute. Both teams must spend hours perfecting that "fall" just as the defender gets close. Do the refs watch games on TV? Do they not see these attempts to cheat? You watch these games and you lose respect for so many players and you feel like you have been cheated out of something. These games just aren't fun to watch anymore.
smithdown Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 There was an Old Firm game two or three years ago where the ref decided "f*ck this, let them get on with it" and didn't hardly blow at all. It was great. The stupid fouls pretty much stopped and both sides got stuck in to playing the ball.
floyd Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Looks like Inter got through a European Cup semi final this time, inspite of the ref, instead of "buying" the ref. Edited April 29, 2010 by floyd

Buzz Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 The ref last night was just very odd, I mean, what the f*** was all that with the drop ball at the half way line towards the end This is exactly the sort of thing mentioned in a thread in the Liverpool forum about refs being interviewed and explaining their decisions.

Haha that was crazy, free kick to Barca, ref wont let em take it, try again ref wont let em take it, try again ref wont let em take it, picks up the ball and does a drop ball. Errrr yer wha??

D.Boon Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 "We don't do that kind of thing here" said Jamie. We do now though.
