Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 for those of you who've played it... Generally my understanding is the consensus goes with CM00/01 - it certainly mixed ease of playing with detail - there wasn't too much annoying & time consuming s*** on there, but in the intervening 10 years, you have to improve the game as computing power improves. I got to about 2016 in 01 before the game corrupted, I also played FM05 which was ok, got frustrated with 07 as I started with Histon in the BS south, and after getting them to the playoffs in the Conference couldn't get any better jobs... Just been playing 09 which I liked but still a bit time consuming on stuff I'd prefer to whizz over, I like the idea of team talks & press conf's but the choices of answers are far too limited. You should also be able to complain about refs - as you could in 01 - with a 'possible' effect of pressurising them Anyway, had my computer pinched with the 09 disc in it & if I can be arsed, I may invest in '10, but not hearing great things about it I like to start in a low league & try to work my way up - as you'd expect a manager to do IRL but I've never stuck with a game long enough to actually achieve that. I did best in 05 going from Thurrock to Norwich (in the C/ship). In 09 I managed 4 seasons, starting with Stalybridge, leaving them in my 2nd season (miles clear at the top - they went up), going to Macc & getting promoted to L1 in my second full season there...
