It's only April and yet - In the last week and a half I must have spotted around 15-20 cars with those stupid England flags stuck on the top corners like cheap earrings - and I live in Wales ffs!

It just fills me with dread for the jingoistic crap fest that's still to come...

Aye it is stupid, and they're entitled to vote !!!

Might have had something to do with St George's Day, not that it makes it any less stupid mind

nah - saw several today while out with the nipper. Might have to put a Spain flag in the window if this keeps up.

Next it'll be the sound of snapping (English) metatarsals, followed by headlines in the tabloid press about the off-field behaviour of English players.

England will be fecked. Again.

I haven't watched a World Cup from in 'the north' since 1990. Looking forward to it, not having londoners and the like spouting bo11ocks about a sport they don't understand should be good.

last world cup i made a home made flame thrower from a can of WD40 and a box of bo peep, and frazzled about 15 flags one night

tame for you Wayne, thought you'd have been under cars installing mercury tilt-switches

Bristols houses are coverd in St Georges cross flags!... The S*n must have been doing a free give away!

they do it every tournament don't they? george crosses, george cross bowler hats, f***ing cut-out-and-keep prayer mat one time if i remember rightly.

it'll be a voucher for a free vuvuzela from asda this year, guarantee it. just one more reason to hate that rag and its readers.

That would finally lead to their offices in Wapping being fire-bombed.

Not to mention those TV adverts with Tery venables doing his screech owl impressions on a song with 'Appy 'Arry in the Choir. Lamentable.

Good old Facebook is now involved here - seen a few groups complaining about 'if you are going to ban us putting the flags up then you should feck off home' (I paraphrase, obviously)

Which leads me to ask the question - has anyone actually ever been told they are not allowed to put the flags etc. up, or is it all "a mate told me that a mate was told he couldn't" stuff?

i've been wondering about this so had a google and came up with absolutely nothing. i remember anecdotal stuff about the odd individual pub banning all shirts during a world cup but that was because of a handful of no surrender-singing f*ckwits. never seen anything at all coming down from police or other law bodies etc.
