Rafa once called him a liar when Beasley quoted from an exclusive interview he was supposed to have had withg him. Rafa came out and called him a liar and that the exclusive quotes were from an interview with El Mundo.

I had the misfortune of reading Woeful Woolnough's piece on Rafa and LFC in the Star yesterday. f***ing terrible. Looked like he'd asked Ant and Fletch to take turns writing sentences. Contextual equivalent of dinosaur s***.

Lawrenson's piece in the Mail was good. Criticising Mancini over Torres and asking how stupid Torres would have to be to leave the best club in the country for, well, City. Rounded off by saying that Torres is obviously far from stupid.

Yeah they've got history and this was really snide, basically saying sarcastically that Rafa should stay because he's doing such a great job. I'll post the video when it's on their website.

Nobody still gives a s*** who they are, but Sky Sports have airtime to fill and I guarantee you it's cheap television for them to produce.

Sorry to say, but this is one of the few TV programmes I genuinely would think a little less of someone for watching. You are justifying Sky's editorial policy by watching it and justifying these cretins sense of entitlement to a TV platform. And only winding up yourself at the same time.

It's not on my favourites schedule it's just something that's on in the background while I have my fry up. I usually laugh off most of the misinformed drivel about us, though depending who's on there's the odd decent point made, but Beasley was out of line this morning.

Agree. It's a s*** programme and always has been. It's just become more frustrating to watch as the participants become more pompous and hate-filled.

They lick the same old arses and make the same old digs.

To be fair, Hill was a bit better.

They just ganged up and tool the piss out of him when he called them on their hypocritical s****., though.

They are like the political staff at their papers, they crave the influence to set the agenda, to have people buy into their world view and ultimately to expedite the making and breaking of figures in the public eye. I find them contemptible by and large and the few good ones really stick out.

And yet they are selling advertising and making money from you anyhow. They don't care if you agree or like it, you are still including in the viewing figures.

Sunday Supplement is an absolutely dire programme. I'm quite prepared to listen to journalists when they're talking about 'insider' stories, but once they start sticking their oar into tactical discussions, discussions of player's merits etc. then they are usually so far out of their depth it's not even funny. What worries me greatly is that people give their views on such matters any credence whatsoever.

Beasley is a f***ing idiot, bereft of any journalistic integrity and has harboured an embarrassing hatred towards us since we put them out of two CL semi-finals and his beloved Jose was shown up by Rafa. Just point and laugh, wait for him to make a story up so that you can sue, rinse and repeat.

"...and Torres is likely to sign for City in the summer "

" You've heard that, have you ? "

" Yes. Mancini is very keen on signing him and Torres is known to be unhappy at missing out on the Champions League "

That's an example of their insider info.

In contrast the cricket version is ace. The prosaically named "Cricket Writers on TV"

I just thought you should know.

The gulf in quality between cricket writing and football in this country is almost immeasurable.

 It really is isn't it.

And indeed you could also say that of the respective Sky coverages; commentary, analysis, everything.

Its a strange one, they clearly can can assemble good quality broadcasters and pundits then we get served up absolute lowest common denominator s**** with the football.
