TORRES A WANTED MAN - MANCINI

Roberto Mancini has admitted every club in Europe would be interested in signing Fernando Torres if Liverpool indicated they would be willing to sell their star man.

Manchester City have been heavily linked with Torres for a number of months now and it is anticipated the Blues will make a bid for the currently injured Spain striker once the season is over.

Mancini insists he has not even thought about the matter. However, the Blues chief does accept he will face competition if he does make a move.

"Fernando Torres is a fantastic striker," said Mancini.

"But all the teams in Europe are interested in him.

"We must get the rest of the matches out of the way first, then we will decide about other players."

He is only saying what every manager is thinking. Be prepared for a lot worse than this during the summer.

During the Summer is fine. Not whilst the season is still going on.

There are bigger and more pressing things to worry about at the moment than what other managers are saying.

Sounds like he was asked if they were interested in him.

Journalists of obviously dying for city to splash the cash and more so on Torres.

And he should have bigger and more pressing things to worry about at the moment than who he may or may not sign this summer

Noone has said its the biggest issue of the week. They are just telling him, quite rightly, to f*** off

f***ing City

Indeed.

So? this is a response to a comment from a manager that wants to sign one of best and contracted players during the season. He can f*** off and each other manager who opens their mouth about Torres/Gerrad etc can also do one. That does not mean I/we cannot worry about other issues and respond to them at the same time.

What makes me laugh is that the City forums are full of 'i heard we're signing Torres' 'We've made a world record bid for Torres' etc...

and then that's followed by muppets saying things like 'he's not worth £70m, too injury prone'

Like they have any sense of what a players worth anymore. I can just imagine them sat at home as Torres signs for City for £70m seething in anger, not!

I'm not outraged, but its poorly timed.

yes, the timing is awful. like i said, i'm glad we would never do such a thing. people need to grow a pair and get a grip.

You're more worked up than anyone in this thread!

Mancini is too debonair for me to get angry with him.

He might be unsettling our players with his comments, but look at the way he wears his retro City scarf and has his hair so nice. He looks like he should be knocking on some posh totty's door (say Fiona Bruce for example) and asking for a cup of Gold Blend with a twinkle in his eye, the old rogue.

He's wasted on English football, we're not sophisticated enough for him.

Means nothing - so did another sophisticated, devilishly handsome chap. Ian Marshallinho.

Was watching AC Milan playing somebody other recently (Sampdoria?) and after half time the managers followed the players out and walked across the pitch. Was like a catwalk fashion show. Really liked the suit whatshisname (in charge at Milan) was wearing. I think you have to be Italian to look comfortably debonair on a football pitch in a suit though. I've seen too many "first look round" outings in suits by various sides before FA Cup Finals to think it is just about having loads of money.
