I know there are a few academic bods on here, so I'm hoping someone will be able to assist:

I completed my degree in 1996, and when I received my final grades, much to my frustration found that I had a 2:2 I could have breezed through my final year and got a 2:2, but I actually worked my @ss off, and was gutted to find I'd missed out on a 2:1 by less than half of one percent (was actually closer to a third of a percent). There was no appeal process, and to this day, this is something that has bugged me a bit.

Since then, I've completed my MSc, and having been self employed for 10+ years have recently started applying for jobs. Many of the jobs I'm applying for need academic transcripts (including for my undergrad degree), so I just ordered a load, which just arrived.

On the transcripts, it says my undergrad degree was Class Two, Division 1 - so the question is, does this mean that I did in-fact achieve a 2:1? (and this is relevant since despite having an MSc now, employers look your 'superior academic record' etc etc, and a 2:1 is obviously more impressive than a 2:2...
