Red Kent Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 (edited) Surprised they are not forcing both teams to go by rail and road. Edited April 17, 2010 by Kev

£440,000 Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Champions League not affected cos no teams far enough north then?
Red Kent Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Champions League not affected cos no teams far enough north then? Lyon v Munich, they'll be going by rail or road surely ? Milan v Barca, go by ship surely ?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 If ours can't go ahead, we should just be awarded the tie
Bootser Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Jumping the Gun? That's been showing that since the fixture was set. Thought it strange at the time!
aka Dus Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Forecasters are saying the wind will change and clear a lot of the existing cloud. Whether or not that happens fast enough to make things safe we'll have to see.
D.Boon Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Looks like the airlines are ready to put pressure on to start flying again. I give it another day or two at most. My link
Frosty Jack Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 The question is, when the no fly is lifted, will scheduled flights resume as normal, or will there be additional cancellations and rebookings to accommodate those stranded first?
Sion Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Torres is stuck in Spain isn't he? We should just play him versus their whole XI. We'd probably win.
Davvo Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 The question is, when the no fly is lifted, will scheduled flights resume as normal, or will there be additional cancellations and rebookings to accommodate those stranded first? It'll take a good week to get back to normal if they start again Tuesday for example, with those people stranded at their destination, awaiting return flight home, getting priority. Shouldn't affect teams travelling as they should be on chartered flights, but might cause difficulties for fans even if they start flying again tomorrow I'd expect. Actually, most people stranded due to grounded short haul flights within Europe however, are likely to have travelled by road/rail/sea I expect, so maybe it wont be too bad for Europe travel.
Metro Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Torres is stuck in Spain isn't he? We should just play him versus their whole XI. We'd probably win. Think Torres is over here, isn't he? He can't get to Spain. He's finished his season. Gravy is stranded in Spain and his brother in Lanzarote. Gravy is flying with Easijet and they've told him apparently it will be next Saturday at the earliest! And he is supposed to be running in the London Marathon the next day.....
RP Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Looks like the airlines are ready to put pressure on to start flying again. I give it another day or two at most. My link The airlines are putting a load of pressure on to sart flying again - there's no real reason why all flights are grounded.
Epic Swindle Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Lyon v Munich, they'll be going by rail or road surely ? Milan v Barca, go by ship surely ? Barca set off today apparently. Thought it'd be a longer drive but it's only 8 hours.
Billy Dane Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Torres is stuck in Spain isn't he? We should just play him versus their whole XI. We'd probably win. According to today's paper he went to Spain on Eurostar.
Benzo-13 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 We should coach it to Lyon and fly from there as south European airports are back up.
BG Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 The question is, when the no fly is lifted, will scheduled flights resume as normal, or will there be additional cancellations and rebookings to accommodate those stranded first? Basically things won't resume as normal because crews and pilots are stranded in the wrong places, as are planes. However the basic principle (at least according to a pilot friend I asked) will be that say, for instance, flights restart on Wednesday then: - Those originally booked to fly on that flight on Wednesday will get on their flight (assuming it's in the right place with a crew etc) as first priority. (i.e. there will not be additional cancellations). - Second priority will be people who have Gold Cards etc for loyalty and are worth a lot to the airlines and have been stranded- After that it will likely be people stranded for longest
Red Kent Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Barca set off today apparently. Thought it'd be a longer drive but it's only 8 hours. 8 hours from Barca to Milan Whose driving - Jensen Button ?
oakie bob Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 8 hours from Barca to Milan Whose driving - Jensen Button ? Obviously Lewis Hamilton as this artical says just under 10 hours
Red Kent Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Obviously Lewis Hamilton as this artical says just under 10 hours That's by car, surely a coach would take longer, and why are we bothered.
Epic Swindle Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 That's by car, surely a coach would take longer, and why are we bothered. They're staying over night in Cannes if you're interested.
Red Kent Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) They're staying over night in Cannes if you're interested. Anyone told DH, he's stuck there as well. Maybe he could kidnap Messi and bring him to Liverpool. Edited April 18, 2010 by Kev
