I was going to post this last night but thought I'd calm down a bit and sleep on it, but I'm still furious today about what I saw last night.

Lets get this straight, theres no other word for it but Benfica are absolute scum. Yes the decisions we were on the end of last night were disgraceful which you may put down to the referee and he was incredibly poor, but I personally believe that he and his assistants basically cracked and lost all control under the intense pressure of the cheating and violent intimidation from the crowd.

Just to focus on that last penalty, I geniunely believe the assistant gave that our of fear. After giving an absolutely stonewall free kick to us which led to the early goal he was targeted by about three firerackers which would have seriously injured him had they struck him. With Di Maria screaming in his face when the ball struck Carra's hand from such close range it could never in a million years have been intentional, whether he actually thought about it or it was instinct he gave the decision in the interests of his self preservation.

Now I know we've had our fair share of decisions at Anfield when the noise is cranked up, but actually targeting officials with violence?

Then as to what went on with the players, they were no better. I hate playing Portuguese teams, I think its a fair generalisation to say they are far and away the biggest cheats in football. They really have made diving and conning the referee an an absolute art form. At one end Torres was being dished out a brutal kicking by pretty much their entire back four, whilst at the other end their entire midfield and attack spent 90 minutes throwing themselves to the ground and imploring the referee to give them decisions.

Its obviously catching because Aimar was the worst offender and he's Argentinian, I don't remember him being such a horrible little cheating scumbag when he was playing in Spain. I lost count of the number of times Benfica players hurled themselves to the ground in the area without any sanction from the referee who had completely lost control. The first penalty Aimar was already flinging himself to the ground before Insua actually brought him down - he hit the ground, looked up at the ref and half sat up to see if he'd given it, then when he saw he had he lay back down and started rolling around holding his face just for good measure.

Honestly, I've never wanted to f*cking give it to a European team at Anfield as much as I do these c*nts they are everything to hate about football. A bunch of f*cking animals at the back, a load of diving cheating sh*tbags in midfield and up front with scumbag firecracker throwing fans. I want Anfield to be a roaring cauldron of righteous noise and anger in the return leg, I want us to send those f*cking rats scurrying back to Portugal with their f*cking tails between their legs, I f*cking hate them after what I saw last night.

He gave the 2nd pen because it was a blatant handball, the first was stupid play from Insua, we can't have any complaints about them.

I agree with the overall sentiment of your post though and I think we will knock them out next week. That said I wouldn't mind signing Luisao or De Maria.

Agreed.

AImar - what thre f*** has happened to him? He was a hard little b*****d when he played for Valencia, yet seems to have turned into a diving, whining little t***.

Luisao - dirty c***. How many fouls did he commit in the match and yest still stay on the pitch? Bertween him and his team-mates, they must have gone right through the back of Torres at least 4 times.

Cordozo - what a lumbering, gap-toothed pile of s**** he is. If he had even an ounce of ability then we'd be looking at a much stiffer test in the return leg.

di Maria - would fit in perfectly at some c*** of a club like City, Chelsea or United. Another whiny little ponce with a tocuh of the Quaresma's about him.

The fans - if that had happened at Anfield, we'd have been thrown out of the competition, I'm absolutely certain of that.

Icould have a good long rant about the referee as well but I'll save my bile for those who will actually be involved next week. Put on a show the likes of which they've never seen in their lives - they are a gang of spinless f***ing t***s and will cave the second they feel the hate pouring down from the stands.

I don't just want to go through, I want to f***ing destroy them.

Cardozo should have got 4 in the first half. I like Di Maria though, he is going to be a top player.

di maria's dangerous as hell and has a lovely left foot. luisao's a beast and been one of the best defenders in the game for years.

they're unbeaten in 26 games or something and you can see why. be great to give them a proper lesson at home.

This is one of the things that gets me, some of their football is fantastic so do they really need to do all that? I've usually calmed down the next day but I'm still seething this morning, I want it to be next Thursday and I want to retain this rage and spread it about a bit to those around me at the ground.

Defnitely want to unleash hell on this lot, and then some.

I actually think for all that they've built up this reputation as a great footnballing side who'll tear you apart, they generally looked most dangerous when they just lumped it into the box.

Time will tell on di Maria and in fairness I'm no mood to be objective but I'm a long way from being convinced by him.

think he's excellent and i'd kill to have him on our left side. he'll probably start in argentina's first XI in the world cup at the expense of players like tevez and aguero. mascherano or the greek needs to give him a massive boot up the a*** at the start of the second leg.

Fair enough, as I say I'm not able to be particularly objective about him this morning.

Little bits like hitting that cross with his left foot instead of his right, and that cocky finish that he got luicky with that they kept on showing before the game, always raise my suspicions a bit that there is a tocuh of the show pony.

Got to admire Leo - even in anger, he's still got the composure to keep it all nicely paragraphed.

really looking forward to the second leg. we owe them a kicking - not just for last night but for sending us out when we were champions of europe

Amen to that.

Portugese teams are the absolute filth of the earth. They've made diving and cheating an artform. We should bring Razor out of retirement and let him break some bones.

We've got to be really physical in their faces, Rafa and the players need to spend the week talking about the players being cheats and Torres getting no protection from referees, try to get into the referees mind, the crowd need to be roaring and produce a special night.

I hope Torres runs rings round that t*** Luisao, says it all you can try and break someones ankle and get booked but you can't touch someones face, absolute joke

Surprised Mascherano didn't have a word with/kill Aimar. Just watching his first dive of the second half there in the penalty box (in front of the official who eventually gave the penno).

yeah but so's jonas. i rate de maria by the way, he's a bit more powerful than i'd thought before. that david luiz is going to be a good player too. bit casual at times, but he's a good footballer and a good athlete.

The one thing that annoyed me was when david 'louise' sythed down torres on the edge of the area. He was already on a yellow and didn't even get a telling off. Where as Insua got booked for stroking aimar to the ground in the same place

Posted

How the hell was that NOT ball to hand?

He raised his hands and blocked it from getting across the box. If that was say, Johnson, crossing and their full back did the same we would all be screaming for the penalty and rightly so.
