badtodabone Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 sicknote from the offal... Alberto Aquilani has been ruled out of Liverpool's Europa League clash with Benfica, manager Rafael Benitez today confirmed. The Italian international sustained an ankle injury in training this morning and won't be with the Reds' squad which flies to Lisbon later today. "He will not be available for this game," said Benitez. "He had a problem with his ankle this morning and we have to fix it. "It doesn't seem too serious but it's the same ankle as before and so we'll have to analyse the situation carefully." Benitez also confirmed defender Martin Kelly will undergo a knee operation today which will rule him out of action for the rest of the season.
Candystore Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 (edited) same team as sunderland then please Maxi can't play Edited March 31, 2010 by Candystore
Kite Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 ridiculous waste of money suspiciously, it kind of rhymes with "Alberto Aquilani" too - not the best line to have in a song about a player though
D.Boon Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 ridiculous waste of money No two ways about it. Lets hope if we ever have another £20 million signing he fares better than the last 2.
Hassony Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I think he has offically given up considering he has stopped going to english lessons as well
blago Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Have to agree this does look a poor signing from Rafa in retrospect, not to mention it was a gamble buying him in the first place. Hopefully we learn our lesson and the new recruit to our medical staff helps prevent similar mistakes in the future.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 At a loss we've only laid down 4m Euros, he's still got high stock in Italy. Bite the bullet
Swipe Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Get Martinez in during the summer. Javi, not Roberto
