Red Kent Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 (edited) Brilliant flag that had Shanks Bob Joe Kenny and Rafa on it. Started to wonder why Roy Evans and Ged are overlooked most if not all of the time. Roy was a great servant to the club maybe not the best manager but still a great servant. Ged laid the foundations for Rafa to carry on and improve. Ged won a treble and those finals in Cardiff and Dortmund will live in the memory. I think its a shame that these two ex bosses get overlooked when it comes to flag making. Edited March 29, 2010 by Kev
Epic Swindle Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Poor Roy in that picture. Moores really was useless.
Hassony Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Poor Roy in that picture. Moores really was useless. How f***ing embarrassing was all that joint managers business

Leo No.8 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Have there been any reports of a steward gobbing on the Benitez picture on it or trying to set fire to it with a lighter?

The Invisible Man Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Started to wonder why Roy Evans and Ged are overlooked most if not all of the time. Based on this picture And because there were only four there, there are only four on ours, not because Houllier and Evans didn't merit a place.
The Hitman Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Poor Roy in that picture. Moores really was useless.Deserved so much better than that, did Uncle Roy.Moores had no cajones at all,a complete coward of a man. Still is.

I liked Evans and Houllier, but neither of them ever won the league or the European Cup, so they are not legends like the others
Tones Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 The guys who made this flag already took a lot of crap on TLW from rafa bashers, and answered it there too. The said it was a flag of our greatest managers, but they also wanted to show support to the current manager. I dont see anything wrong with that. They also said if anyone disagreed with it they were welcome to go make their own. Which is also right.

Many flags have been made depicting our managers and I cannot remember any including Roy or Ged which I think is a shame. But if the criteria is League or European Cup then fair dos.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I'm not surprised by it at all. I basically see it as the 4 managers from our golden era + the current manager in order to show him support. 20 yrs down the line, we would probably see the same thing - the golden 4 + the then current manager. It would be a greater tribute to Rafa if he stayed on such emblems of support when he goes - just as the original 4 have done.
Sion Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Rafa won the CL inheriting a terrible squad, for that alone he should forever be considered alongside them 4.

I'm sure there was, or still is, a flag with Ged on ? Certainly towards the end of his reign here there was something, I'm sure of it, I think, probably

Criteria is all our great managers and the current manager. Wouldn't have thought Rafa will be gracing any banners in 15 years unfortunately, Liverpool fans' attitude is "we've got our idols and we're sticking to them."
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 even after the next 5 successive League titles?
